A Sukhoi project...there is a resemblance to the T-8V project. Would this be a variation on the theme?

How many times does that make?

+/- 18g, I guess that's for the airframe!! Poor bloody pilot GLOC or what?

Good afternoon skytrain, it's not a Sukhoi project.

Xtremeair have tested the airframe to those loads, so I would think that the certification values will be +/-12g, using the 150% rule.

As for the pilot - seemples mate!

Certification is due this month.

How many times does that make?
This one's true though - it's on the news and is subject to a legal battle.

I'll try again, this looks like one of the submissions for the ATLAS (anti-tank light aircraft attack system) for the US. Trouble is I can't find the name of it!! It was a Lockheed proposal.

That's good enough for me skytrain, as far as I can tell, it was known as the Lockheed Atlas (I can't find any other designation), and I was hoping that the various takeovers in the US Satellite Launcher field might confuse the searches.

The Lockheed Entry had Low IR and Visual Signatures, Gun: 25mm GAU-12/U Gatling, Redundant Controls, Tough, Prototype Flown in 1989; Privately Financed
GE Unducted Fan Engine and GAU-13 (4 barrel 30mm or 25mm) Gun Rate of Turn>25 deg/sec; Low SFC (long loiter), Low IR Signature, Low Vulnerability.

I notice that no mention is made of the row made by the "whirling Bananas", the enemy would have heard it coming for miles !!

Well done mate, you have Control

Thanks LM,

We haven't had 005 yet! It was in the same batch as the last three.

I will try and get some more together. Harder ones I hope!!

Thanks Sinco. When I found the artists impression for the Sukhoi it rang a bell that the US had looked at something similar.

A nice challenge, and the same to you LM on the Sbach 342. A totally new one on me, but have taken a look at their website....a very impressive machine.

Here's one to think about:

I was going to ask if the engine was a JAP.

I didn't mean Japanese, I meant the JAP horizontally-opposed engine.

Excuse my ignorance of such things LM! Done a search on that, and no it wasn't one of those.

To help you along....the engine was British, but it was a V arrangement.

Looking at the history of JAP engines you are along the right lines though.
