Just a point on the YA-9A. The actual aircraft differs somewhat from the drawing. See photo of prototype YA-9 below. Note the broader stubbier tail, as well as the tailplane surface being canted upwards. Also rearward protuberances on the wings.

Mel's Challenge
oncemorealoft. It is no trap it is indeed a Westland Lynx AH Mk1. From a photograph I took of a Lynx from 654 Sqn AAC landing as the winter sun was setting in Detmold Germany 1978.

I thought it was too easy but it was a good excuse to show a nice atmospheric picture. I feel quite proud actually because as far as I'm concerned there are only five real helicopters: Wessex, Whirlwind, Sioux, Huey and that new fangled Jet Ranger. All the others look the same apart from those funny Russian things which don't count anyway 'cos they're just too ugly.

Errr,guys,you all have forgotten the `real` helicopter...a man`s machine..I`ll leave you to work it out..!
