The thing is a skid which is located centrally beneath the fuselage. The flag type thing at the front of it does NOT feature on all photos, so I am not sure what its purpose is.
The aircraft is flying left to right in the picture.
And with regard to the Fike D, I have no idea....maybe to convert the cabin for cargo??

OK, thanks. Is it powered?
The reason that the Fike D controls were on the roof was that it could be used in the outback and you could sleep on the floor!
I've said it more than once, this thread is an education!

Good afternoon skytrain,
I think it's the Japanese OpenSky M-02 ? I believe the M-02J was jet powered ? there was an unpowered M-01 test prototype too but not found photo.
If correct, then Open House Please as Coffee break's over and I'm back to work.

Were those wings fixed in that position or did they move?
Something from Russia?

Where've you been LM? In the naughty corner? Great to see you back mate!
Yes Skytrain10, the Alerion Riout 102T from France. I have to say that I know nothing about it! It is listed on the Musee Aviation de Angers website but I'm not sure if they have one there.
You have control Ken!!!!
