Rubik R-18 Kanya
It's mentioned in Jane's 54' and it fits the description, especially the undercarriage construction...but unfortunately no illustration.

An early version of the Rubik R-18 Kanya? I think it is being used as a glider tug for which the R-18 was designed.
Got a pic mate?

Agreed, but Mel did suggest an "earlier version".

I'm re-tracing the threads because I'm sure Richard found it whilst looking for something else - a theory you once suggested.

I discovered this bird last week
Yeah...good idea mate. Keep at it. When you find it and Richard confirms it, stall them, wait for my green light tomorrow morning and only then - declare Open House, OK!?

You know, Richard could be on his back with bears, wolves and rattlers ripping him apart.... he's a goner...maybe we should just make it open house now?!

(Results David, no excuses, just results)

Thanks David and Graeme. I missed Richard's statement re "not French". I was basing my suggestion re Rubik R-18 on this photograph in Green's book "The Aircraft of the World". The Main undercarriage strut on this photograph "seems" to join at the junction of wing and fuselage. But the engine is incorrect in that it ius a Walter-Minor where as the engine in Richard's photograph looks like a Argus AS !0 similar to the Fi 156C or D.

Bradenav`s Stoch look-a-like
I go for the 1949 M-28 Dahu II from Hungary.
As to the proper naming, I saw it as Muegyetemi M-28, Weiss M-28 (the designer), Siraly M-28 and Zamolyi-Lakatons M-28 the only common denominator being M-28 Dahu II

WK,

I found that one this morning, but dismissed it because the gear does not match. I have found one photo of it.

Do you have a photo?

Please check PM in next ten minutes.
