USA but not an Ascender.

the design was awarded to the Curtiss-Wright Corporation of Delaware in 1946
That refers to the award of the patent.

I can see the "Scott Airplane" but it looks exactly like the CW-24B of 1941....?

That's not the CW-24B which I found mate, but it looks like that should have gone to you.

Not a problem. Just fascinates me that this "Scott" fella can claim a patent to the design in 1946?!
