The Thunderbirds are "go!"
Nice one LM!

Is this the A-4b?

Sorry Noyade.

Not the A-4B, but it is a Werner von Braun design and you are close....

LM
That will be the manned A-9 then. If so the honour should go to Noyade.

To add my two penn'th, I would suggest either the A-6 or A-7. I think it was th A-6 that was supposed to have had a manned version.

I agree that the honour should go to Noyade. if I am right.

Gentlemen,

It is in fact the EMW A-6 research aircraft, which S'land has clocked. A 1946 design using a rocket and a ramjet. Vertical take-off and conventional landing.

I think it was the first to employ Area Ruling (a 1944 Messerschmitt patent) to reduce transonic/supersonic drag.

Since you all feel that Noyade is the winner, then I gladly give control to you Sir.

I wonder what's coming next.....

Hmm..not sure why, but if we can't win the Ashes then maybe a silhouette challenge!

It is in fact the EMW A-6 research aircraft
I've never heard of it LM. Looks fast and dangerous! All I could find at the time was this silhouette and it looked like the big bugger in the middle.

Well I won't waste the opportunity and privilege, so here's another challenge...

Hi Noyade,

It looks like a Monospar ST 25 to me but I am away from my books so it's a guess...

General Aircraft GAL.41....? Not that I've found a picture but it was a pressurised ST-25, and the silhouette has a round fuselage cross section, which implies its a pressurised aircraft.

General Aircraft GAL.41.
That's the one skytrain10! Control is yours. The pressure vessel was 10 ft long and 5 ft in diameter, hence the pregnant look. The rounded nose that one11 mentioned contained a Sprite engine to drive the supercharger which maintained air pressure.

All of these modern jet passenger thingies look the same to me (it could be an Airbus or a Boeing). How about the Tupolev Tu 204?
