To add my two penn'th, I would suggest either the A-6 or A-7. I think it was th A-6 that was supposed to have had a manned version.

Gentlemen,
It is in fact the EMW A-6 research aircraft, which S'land has clocked. A 1946 design using a rocket and a ramjet. Vertical take-off and conventional landing.
I think it was the first to employ Area Ruling (a 1944 Messerschmitt patent) to reduce transonic/supersonic drag.
Since you all feel that Noyade is the winner, then I gladly give control to you Sir.
I wonder what's coming next.....

General Aircraft GAL.41....? Not that I've found a picture but it was a pressurised ST-25, and the silhouette has a round fuselage cross section, which implies its a pressurised aircraft.
