I think I ought to try and clarify a bit, I said in reply to LM that it wasn't a DH, but did have that look about it! That's 'coz it's based on an Airco design, but not a DH-4.

Ach I was just about to ask if this was a design of de Havilland but built by Airco while de Havilland was there. We have had one of those… So not exactly….

I thought that would narrow the field, but it doesn't.

Like Reg says, we've had most of them before.

Was the engine an Armstrong Siddeley Puma?

It was based on an Airco design, but not built by them or DH

Edited to say that Tacklebury has it the Polikarpov R-1

Had a virus that told me for $59.95 it would remove the virus. "System Restore" removed it.

I've just discovered that with PPRuNe's recent re-configuration you don't have to wait 2 minutes between posts ?!
