Annie..? This is probably a British-built aircraft given the compass type and style of engine instruments.

This aircraft was not built in the UK it was built on the continent of North America.

Just having a quick lunch break and looking at your last clue and the possibility of a glimpse of a broad flat nose through the windscreens, I wonder if it may be the CCF Burnelli CBY-3 Loadmaster ??
