The mounted Cavalry is a clue though
Possibly India or Pakistan, but since I now know that the PAF operated Freighters, I'll guess Pakistan - Lahore?

I think Sabredog has got it. The question I have now, is what is a camouflaged Bristol Freighter doing in Kano?

Paper Tiger,
While the Europeans are in their beds, is that Chehalis (KCLS)? Have a lot of friends in the Pacific NW - comes from working at the Lazy B for five years - hope they & you are keeping "feet dry".
Yes it's KCLS, looks like they just managed to get everything out of harm's way. Still not good hereabouts, all main N-S roads impassable, 7 dead, damage in the $billions

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Sabredog has it - Kano. I thought it would have lasted longer. I don't know what the Bristol Freighter is doing there. The photo belonged to my dad who worked there. The date on the photograph is 4th May 1957 so I don't know what the event was. The mounted Cavalry on crowd control belong to the Emir of Kano.
Over to you Sabredog.

India, yes. Hyderabad (VOHY) ,No.
Admittedly Hyderabad was a shot in the dark. On closer examination it looks like an Indian provincial airport.

Pune?

Not Baroda, the Sanskari Nagari, OM15.
This airfield was operational during the days of the Raj and remained so after Independence. Now relegated to light aircraft and helicopter movements. Was once operated under a British name.
