Which Aerodrome?
"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."
Not McConnell. Right Air Force, wrong Air Base.

Tiger_mate,
Yes, I had thought of straightening it up, but I was too lazy.
I think you are reading too much into my Wizard of Oz quote. It's not Kansas, nor is it Downunder

KeMac's got it.
Yes, it's TSN, my home airport these days. I can see the rotating beacon as I type.
Nowadays, it is Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City, rather than Tan Son Nhut in Saigon, but interestingly the IATA code is still SGN.
The tower looks pretty much the same, but with some trees around it:

The "leaning tower" picture was taken from what is now the domestic terminal. The traffic is almost exclusively civil these days, except for a few helicopters, but there are still some reminders of over thirty years ago:
and to the south of the tower, you can still see this sight:

Not all visible in the shot are C130s, C119s, a C47, a C123 and two Chinooks - all parked where they were 32 years ago.

No it wasn't easy! and I'd been looking at this from the air this week while on approach to Bristol.
What threw me was the lack of visible water.
I think that it is Weston-Super-Mare?

Yes - hard to imagine the Bristol Channel lies between the runway and those far hills.
Weston-super-Mare it was, back in 1968 when still operational. Lovely airfield.
You have the baton.

Just seen the Weston super Mud pic- Flew 2000 odd glider launches from there....and I still wouldn't have recognised it from that angle
The 'EMI' hangar on the right threw me-looks like its in the wrong place! This hangar was rumoured to have been used by EMI for work on torpedoes, not sure how true that was though.
Haven't a clue about this one either!
