Not Munich-Reim, further north than that. This photograph was taken circa 1935.

Thank you Mel. Here is a photo taken in 1929 of an aerodrome still in operation today. It is presently named after a famous person.

The section roads and paved runways (in 1929) mean USA to me, probably the midwest. Perhaps the immediately adjoining part of Canada.

Flap40 is correct. Well done Here is a mid-50s photo of Lockheed Air Terminal, re-named Hollywood-Burbank, and now Bob Hope Airport. Note the new Lockheed 1049s.
