Moondance, some recent photos here:

Coll/Ballard Airfield

New runway, terminal building, and a scheduled air service from Oban operated by Highland Airways using the BN-2B Islander.

Open house.

If it's open house, let's try this one. I know at the start of this thread that someone warned about yet another grass field, but maybe the background terrain will help. No prizes for the country though.

Sorry AAO. Geneva looks more like Heathrow than a grass field (but in smaller size)!

I think Heathrow does actually have some (admittedly small) grass areas & of course its a bit difficult to tell whats behind the camera.... thats my excuse anyway...

Another guess, for La Cote, Switzerland (LSGP)?

HB-UUL, picture taken May 07?

Brilliant. Yes, La Côte, also known as Prangins or Gland. The aerials at the back mark the site of NDB GLA.
How did you get the details of the photo? Did I leave an identity on it?
Open house as I have to fly off to LTN tomorrow via EZY.

A clue: The land at the other side of the river is in a different country to the airfield.

The country this airfield is in was a protectorate of a European country & gained independance in the period from the late 1940s to mid 1950s.
