Qantas SH EBA negotiations
QF Management have approached NJS with regards to operating a second tranche of A321’s.
Obviously preparing to instigate the standard IR playbook. Sign this or we’ll give it to them. Only have to offer them a 20% pay rise and they’ll be scrambling for it with QF saving a bundle of coin - bonuses all round.

Perhaps you could take up your concerns with a new "senior culture program manager"

I generally don't respond to personal attacks so I'll re-iterate the point.
A claim was made that NJS have been approached with some type of request to operate a 'second tranche' of A321s. A very specific claim.
It's not about being pro company or not, where is the evidence for that claim? After many months of negotiations I've not heard anything remotely similar to that, the 'second tranche' of A321s has already been ordered and NJS can barely crew a dozen A220s let alone 29 let alone A321s.
To me that 'claim' seems to be a wind up.

I just enjoy winding up the locals… Im sure an Aussie airline wouldn’t threaten to outsource jobs to another entity.
Good luck with the negotiation, remember Unions fighting each other is not the way to go. Accept the other Unions methods and work together to find the middle ground.

Just doing back of the napkin numbers on the MGH increase. If it were 60hrs, with a commensurate increase in base pay, that would be about a 12.3% pay bump for a year 1 FO right off the bat. Thats without taking into account proposed DPC, reserve payment and all the other protections and improvements.

It’s a shame these threads are infiltrated by management.
Very obvious.
Maybe go run the airline instead.

I get the protections involved with having a base of 62hr (verse 53.4hr) but other than COVID everyone is doing > 62hr every BP so is it really a 12.3% payrise? Yes it’s guaranteed rather than the possibility of losing work and dropping down into the 50’s but I don’t know many SH pilots on less than 65hr and that’s those who keep there heads down and don’t chase the work.

4 hrs pay for reserve isn’t going to cut it. There needs to be additional credits for a callout. I get called on 90% of reserves anyway so dressing that up as a pay rise is marginal, at best, and more likely pure BS.
There still doesn’t appear to be a fix for domestic slips of less than 36 hrs which create those lovely 3 day DRW patterns for 8 hrs pay which everyone enjoys so much.
Six months after the company’s initial self imposed deadline of Christmas 2023 the nuts and bolts of the various mechanisms seem pretty well settled.
They need to quantify what they’re willing to give for those things and get it to a vote so we can get the first no vote out of the way.
