Bonza has its AOC
Sounds like a 2 year contract that is just coming to an end. She was pulled back into the fold from A Post after leaving Jetstar/Tiger, so reading between the lines, sounds like she was lured to get it up and running then move on. Probably the smart one.
I can see PoppaJo in ten years still predicting the imminent demise of Bonza…”won’t be long now till they collapse” 👴🏻
what was it…”give them 12 months”….”give them till the end of this year”?

When you have big investors behind you there is never a finite date, as they can be gambling on factors that are not public and waiting for something we don't know about. They could also have ulterior motives to profiting, like SQ old stake in VA being to keep a thorn in QFs side, to suck profit out of the Australian domestic market. They were willing to pump cash in on the side to keep the airline afloat as long as it was not too much and achieved some market turbulence. Otherwise QF was set to launch a bunch of Asian ventures that would be draining profit from those areas.
You can look at this however you please but don’t overlook the fact that 777 isn’t here for the long term prosperity of this carrier, they are here to make money from loans and leasing.
It wasn’t 777 that started this concept, it was the founder, and the now departing CCO, who went hunting globally for a someone to either invest or fund the concept, then flog it off. They have already let slip a few months ago re the valuation of this carrier, and intentions to sell the stake to someone else. 777 got what it wants, 20% loans and aircraft leasing. They are not here to fund any red ink, that’s up to the next person. That’s the issue with a carrier like this, ‘the next person’, and what they do with it. Many on here have been burnt on multiple strategy attempts from new owners.
More details in regards to the investor at play here will come out soon as they enter court proceedings with ex individuals from its Canadian offshoot, which is in serious debt and has acknowledged that it will need to restructure itself in order to continue operations in the medium term, the 20% loans and elevated leases are crippling the airline.

Podcast on that once reputable website/magazine AA, claiming how all the critics have been proven wrong due to Bonza's loadings. As we all know, bums on seats doesn't equal profits or long-term success. Lets see the numbers in a few months. Too early to say they have made point to point work in Oz when we don't even know the figures yet.

I suspect they would have cut fewer routes if the had 5 frames rather than just the 4 thanks to Flair....
Part of the cuts were in an effort to build resilience on the network
I predict that OOL will do better than MCY
Further they will hang around until WSI/NBWA/BCA or what ever it's called opens
They will likely open up a new base prior to this IMO however and my money is on AVV
Media reports of Bonza’s first wet leased aircraft from Flair is due to arrive in the next day or so with another due to arrive in December.
Are these aircraft going to be flown by Flair pilots from Canada? Or are the aircraft going to be temporarily put on the Australian register so they are flown domestically by Australian crew?

Australia is a very weak country when it comes to things like this. Our current Gov are letting the world run rampart in our country I read yesterday Chinese buyers offering cash for houses in Toorak when we have a housing crisis.

The other airline is doing it longer than that due to the miscalculation on the COVID rebound....
Are the cabin crew locals?
Virgin had some thing with Tiger painted 737s flown on a VAI AOC with VA Pilots and Tiger Cabin Crew.
Bonza originally attempted to outsource Flight ops to another entity, which CASA thankfully said no. Original plan was Bonza AOC operated by Parc crew. Training department outsourced to Parc.
You basically outsource until Canberra starts asking questions, which seems to be rare.

A couple dozen tech and cabin crew have been sent over from Canada. I was on a flight this morning into Brisbane and afterward noticed a heap of bags going around the carousel with “Flair Airlines crew” labels all over them. I assume the impending operation is what they’re here for.
CASA isn’t going allow foreign registered aircraft with foreign crews fly domestic RPT in Australia. If that happens it will be the beginning of the end of their control of the whole Australian industry.
