When you have big investors behind you there is never a finite date, as they can be gambling on factors that are not public and waiting for something we don't know about. They could also have ulterior motives to profiting, like SQ old stake in VA being to keep a thorn in QFs side, to suck profit out of the Australian domestic market. They were willing to pump cash in on the side to keep the airline afloat as long as it was not too much and achieved some market turbulence. Otherwise QF was set to launch a bunch of Asian ventures that would be draining profit from those areas.
