The problem with the PBS is that the Jepp package could have been purchased with its own built in PBS from day one but the powers that be are creating their own interface so that they can keep rocade. This interface is being created by volunteers and part time programmers so I wouldn't hold out hope that the PBS is going to be some sort of miracle solution. Having previously worked at an airline with the Optimiser and the JEPP PBS it was fantastic, however there is no way in hell that Jetstar is going to allow the full flexibility like roster swaps online and a true open time where you can put unwanted trips to be picked up by whoever wants them. I have been told by managers that they don't feel 'comfortable' giving the pilot group that sort of control which is why we are creating our own system.

AFAP have requested QF to explain why they signed a deal with more than 3% when they have been solid saying 3% is the group policy.

I think union talks were rescheduled from last week to next week. Tuesday to Wednesday next week.
So they actually have not spoken to them yet. I guess you will hear more at the end of next week.

The 3% is fixed with no offsets required except for long haul pilots who must contribute to the purchase of new aircraft starting 4 years before they actually arrive.

Does it really matter, Low Cost Longhaul on widebodies is a fine art and one that I can’t see Qantas Group percevaring with for much longer when he majority of routes can be flown on more long range narrow bodies. If you are in Jetstar and want to fly Widebodies I would recommend doing it sooner rather than later, by the way it will have NOTHING to do with the EBA when they do go no matter what HQ says.
You don’t suddenly decide to flog off your 787 fleet because the pilots have got a bit uppity, this decision would have been made ages ago.
On a positive note, getting rid of an effectively loss-making section of the business will mean Jetstar group makes even more money, if the pilot group is forced to remain within 3% for their EBA it will be trebles all round in Collingwood.
