John Holland Aviation announcement
The use of these labour hire groups is certainly a depressing trend.
QF Bris heavy
QLink Tamworth
Virgin have some
Hawkers
Cobham
Jetstar in Newcastle
Aviex
Certainly from the view of getting a permanent job it isn't good - especially if you have a family and would like to see them more than occasionally.
That would be like Borghetti spruiking that he is building a hangar in Sydney able to take a 777. 4 years on and not a sod of earth turned. So I doubt they will buy a 2nd hangar in Mel. Just smoke and mirrors

Any truth that Virgin are negotiating to purchase John Holland's engineering
facility at Melbourne?
Lets see if the Geelong Advertiser hack journalists run with it .

The last I heard is that Virgin is in "major debt" to Holland already..

Ha Yeah, right....... The only "debt" owed will be the insurance excess owed by Hollands for the aircraft they've managed to damage....... And it isn't only to VA's insurer either..

2 A330's, one before it's first revenue flight, 2 737's that I know of, one 3 months old at the time, and which still bears the scars from the tug, shall I go on?

A 737 with a tug?
Who damaged VH-XFD's plyon when removing the inlet cowl when not all bolts were removed?
Who punched that hole into VH-YFC just behind door L1?
Just asking who.

Genuine incident reports or "I heard from a reputable source..." type stuff.
One thing we continuously faced at JHAS were bogus quality claims that simply weren't true. Not going to say no quality events ever occurred but certainly not as many as the detractors like to claim.
As with everything, there's two sides to the quality story at JHAS.

spot on ltm.
but it got very tiring when talking to senior airline execs who had been fed some of the most absurd stories I have ever heard.
"She turned me into a newt" wouldn't have been out of place on occasions...

Well does anyone know who damaged VH-XFD or VH-YFC? I'm asking to find out who did that damage.
Heaven forbid if it was only JHAS who makes mistakes in aviation.....
Wont be long before JHAS is complicated in jetstars tail being struck off by an B737 winglet, due to that aircraft just being in the JHAS hangars waiting for repair.
