That's what all the young-ins say.

It's a dream that rarely comes true!

No it's happened in the past. There have been LH Cpts who couldn't transition to the 737.

Difficult aeroplane, short sectors, OCTA, unfamiliar aerodromes, consistent early starts all add up in your 60's if your life has been spent in a Long Haul environment on nice kit like the B744

I can see how this would be potentially a big change from LH but...

Difficult aeroplane
Really? How so?

Angel

It requires you to be able to fly more than an ILS.

(I'm kidding folks!).

Nothing to see here folks, keep moving thanks

Errr, Mods can we close this thread, it's kind of embarrassing and is really about nothing - doubt we will recruit for a long long time.

Please just let our airline die in peace

737 compared to the B744 is a giant leap backwards technology/systems wise even though the -400 is older. No EICAS, No push buttons, manual everything. Bastardise systems.

All can be overcome but its all the little things that add up.

I never thought a 23 year old jumbo would be that advanced?

C'mon, give the old boys some credit. Most have flown the Classic, 707s, The Connie and the Avro etc, the 737 i'm sure will be a walk in the park.

They may even be able to teach a few of you young turks a thing or two.

Haha...but as you fellas on the 767 will soon find out, an RNP-AR requires far less button pushing and less of the old MCP finger dance.

And as for some of the earlier contributors, it's pretty clear who is Perth based and who is just throwing a bit of mud from the sidelines! Choosing sides...pffft, what crap! Best job in QF at the moment I reckon!
