At least they've dumped the web address on the livery, so mid 2000s LCC... GAFA's right though, it's Air Van revisited.
However, the interior looks awesome and that's the important bit.

Qantas is starting to look old and tired now.
Bit of a dilemma the QF group have, put money back into QF or keep focusing on J*.....
At least VB only has to focus on itself.

The inside looks refreshing and nice. But the exterior is just meh and its boringly similar to Qantas. I would have like to see a similar silvery/red theme to Virgin Atlantic. Perhaps a more darker silver rather than it being closer to off white.
Two points. What happen to the restriction of Virgin on international routes because of SIA that led to the international services being called V Australia? Guessing it got lifted or something'
Also if they rebrand all their services as Virgin Australia, will they differentiate their P Blue services, otherwise would that make them any different to Qantas and their Jetconnect saga? Perhaps Virgin New Zealeand or the very slick VNZ?
Qantas, the spirit of Australia has been making itself Australian in the recent years and Virgin is trying do the exact opposite.
Funny world init?

Looked like crap !
Boring boring boring.....Boring livery, boring Branson speech, boring launch, boring Branson pretending to be a plane with his arms outstretched in a flying motion, same boring shenanigans.
If this is what is on offer after spending all that money rebranding (and still lots of $$$ yet to go repainting the other 'shiny toys') then JB should be embarressed. I give it a -1/10, better off donating all that money to charity, or increasing the Cruise First Officer's salaries!!

Drove past the airport this evening and saw the new look sitting near the corporate aircraft area and i liked the clean simple image. The red was getting faded and jaded. personally i'd rather skip all the hype and jazz and keep it simple and cost effective. must cost the price of at least a new aircraft to rebrand and repaint a whole fleet. gimme a well trained crew that can use their brains, good service and cockpit doors that lock with efficient but low key security and friendly check in staff that don't screw you over for a extra kg in my bag. (that pisses this 55kg pax right off).

Such an insightful and well thought out post gobbledygook or is it chinstrap or etops 180.
Look we get it. You are a CFO with VA and want more $$$ or more opportunities. It really is getting a bit old................

Meh
I must say, I watched the 738 and 332 land this morning while walking down to work and to be fair the livery is fresh and in my very humble opinion far less tacky then the old red one. Having said that, I expected something remarkable. A Virgin Atlantic meets V Aus style job. I don't like it, but can't say I dislike it either. I just hope JB has made wiser investments than appointing Hans to 'recreate' the airline's image. It looks leased.
Interior looks ok in business, but economy looks like the recovered/repainted Emirates interior that it is. The whole thing looks a bit like a wet-leased operation to me.
Having said this, I really hope they succeed with this transition. Good luck to them and all the employees.

Like it although in my opinion the tail looks a little unfinished.
So do I get his right. Pilots based in NZ work for Virgin Australia?
Maybe some more clued up than me can explain to me how, give or take a few dollars I can get my family of 5 across the tasman on an airline that serves me food, has in flight entertainment plus gives the kids toys etc for the same price as Virgin does but gets me in at midnight with no food unless i pay for it. I know JB is chasing the business market but will new paint and seats make that much of a difference?
As an aside I paxed yesterday on Qantas and its brand new 737. Very nice. Screens in the back of every seat plus the coffee and cake to go with it

As a Qantas pilot, I think Virgin's rebranding is a great way to stop the rot. To stop QF pouring money, energy, everything into the endless pit that is lowcoststar.
It's impressive that Virgin Australia are actually DOING something about the business brand. Richard today wasn't an all singing, all dancing, all new show, but he doesn't have to be. It's heads down, bums up to work and make something out of their brand. Qantas? Heads down, buried, money pouring out of their ar$e. They are making nothing out of their brand.
Oh wait, Jetstar, what... is that about to become a new, business product? Really? low fares, good times. Thankyou Jetstar. Conditions apply.

From news.com.au
.....consumer feedback, emails, random surveys but one of the most important elements of information is the crew because they see things every day and they know what works and doesnt and what should be changed, he*said. The majority of the changes we have made have come from the*crew..."
FFS Joyce, WHEN WILL YOU FIGURE IT OUT???????

That aside guess its going to be no different now if PB is re badged as Virgin Australia. (I don't care who does it, marauding a service as Australian when it is crewed and based in NZ is wrong and deceitful)
So if a LCC is going upmarket. Will price be the only differential between the two (service wise?) If so the boyz at Qantas have got to be more than a little nervous...
All in all I consider it to be a masterful move against Qantas (although expensive). I believe that it serves as an important brand change. It also nets them some editorial over the next days in the media and we all know the value of that.
It sure is going to be an interesting time. Watch this space.
