Maggie Island, you seem to be spot on. Doesn't look like we would hear anything until next year, now that it's only a week to Christmas!

ElFynn1214 19th December 2017 00:06

Hi everyone, I've recently applied also.
Does anyone know how many enroute/tower trainees
Airservices intend on recruiting in 2018. Obviously there's
a tower and enroute course starting in January 2018 but would love
to know what the rest of 2018 is looking like.
Cheers.

Online assessment invitations are out!

Cirrus8 12th January 2018 06:58

Also been invited to do the online assessments. To be completed by Wednesday 17/01/18. Best of luck Maggie Island

wotma 13th January 2018 08:22

welp. i decided to do the OPQ before the assessment and now the yellow banner for the assessment has disappeared :( guess i'll have to wait until monday to give them a call.

A Verma 13th January 2018 23:24

Hey Guys, has any anybody else not receive the online assessment yet? I applied towards the end of the application window. I am hoping that is the case and it is coming soon! Good luck to everyone who has received the invitation

Wotma, I just did the ability test and now the OPQ banner has disappeared. I too will contact them Monday

tipsy.skipsy 14th January 2018 09:06

Wotma and Cirrus8,

You are not alone, have had the same issue yesterday. Did send the technical support an email as mentioned in the Online Assessment invite email. Lets see what happens, please keep us posted here.

Cirrus8 15th January 2018 02:06

I received the following feedback from CEB Technical Support:

Airservices is currently experiencing a system issue and the links in their candidates' profiles have disappeared. They are attempting to fix the issues. Once the issue has been fixed, you should receive another email regarding the second test link soon. If you don't receive the email by the end of today, please contact your recruiter Airservices Australia directly for further information.

ElFynn1214 15th January 2018 02:20

Okay thanks for the heads up. I just completed my OPQ and have sent Airservices an email asking if they can resend the remaining online testing again.

Cirrus8 15th January 2018 02:29

aaaand, the link is back again.

wotma 15th January 2018 04:34

pretty sure that spatial test just pulled me out of the race lol

goodluck to everyone who is yet to do theirs!

SunnyKumar 15th January 2018 11:28

Hello everyone,

I have received an (invitation) assessment email again on Monday 15th morning and another email in the evening saying about an error regarding the test and wait for further instructions. I also found 3 links 2 assessment and 1 OPQ !!
Is 17th Deadline still valid? Is anyone in same position?

Maggie Island 15th January 2018 13:40

I daresay that as long as you got past the mandated minimum responses that your hat will still be in the ring! I have a feeling that these tests will be used mostly for selection purposes post-interview.

On the other hand, word on the street is that the OPQ can scrub you out pretty quick if you don’t fit the AsA mould:sad:

Deadlines should remain the 17th unless you got an extention, hopefully this means they’re trying to move quickly from this point on!? (Don’t hold your breath tho!)

SunnyKumar 16th January 2018 04:08

EMail from Airservices Australia: The online testing timeframe has been extended to midnight Friday 19 January 2017 & Some applicants may notice 3 tests in their applicant portal (2x Ability Testing & 1x OPQ), if this affects you, please ensure you complete only 1 Ability Test and the OPQ Test.
All the best guys.

missy 16th January 2018 09:54

Given this is a rumour network then there were apparently 30,000 applications and 300 invited to the next stage of OPQ and Ability Testing.
Apparently the job search on www omitted the word 'Air" so there were literally thousands of "traffic controller" "lollypop backpackers" applying. Oh dear!!

where do you come across information like that!?

Also; i know there have been issues with it, but tonight just completed the Ability testing but still waiting for the OPQ banner to reappear. Been nearly an hour. was hoping it'd be sooner as tonight was my best chance in terms of available time to complete these.

just wondering whether your second test has become available yet? its been about 24 hours, just wondering what the rough timeframe is between the ability testing and the personaility testing

DMC98 18th January 2018 03:22

Just wondering how long everyone had to wait for the OPQ assessment to be available after completing their Ability testing?

After completing opq in the evening, i was checking whole night for the link but it only appeared next day evening!

SunnyKumar 19th January 2018 12:09

Is there a phone interview after online assessment??

I also wondered if they had taken away the phone interview stage, as it was removed from their "Recruitment Process" steps on the Trainee air traffic controllers page...

I didn’t think that we’d get the ability test/OPQ at the same time, so perhaps they’ve made some changes to the process?

ElFynn1214 23rd January 2018 04:11

Yeah it seems to be a little more streamlined compared to previous intakes. This time there was only 5 days from being invited via email to being required to complete both ability and OPQ testing. Last time from memory we were given 2 weeks to prepare for the ability testing. Then if successful, an invite was sent out for the OPQ.
Possibly late February or early March for the Assessment Centre maybe...

ben93 24th January 2018 08:30

Does anyone know how much notice they would give you if you made it to the assessment day? I made it to and completed the online tests.

I live in London but am an Australian citizen. I would need 2 weeks notice minimum to fly over for the assessment day.

I got a call today to say I was through to assessment day round. Dates offered were for the week starting 12th Feb.

Hi 737 800,

Did you get a call from a private number? I did get a call twice with a private number but I couldn't take it because of work and all...

Did they send out an email as well?

Congrats! And thank you for sharing about the assessment day.
My application also still says "under review". I'll share as soon as I hear anything.

Yes it was a pvt number. I got an email but only after the call as they want you to select a date on the call. The email then has an invite for the date you chose.

Thanks for the congrats everyone.

FYI I'm in WA

SunnyKumar 4th February 2018 22:06

Any updates? Anyone?

ElFynn1214 5th February 2018 03:42

Nothing my end yet.

Has anyone been told they haven't been successful in progressing any further?
