Hi everyone!!
I got an email from the recruitment team that I "have been selected to attend an Assessment Centre for the position of Early Careers-Engineering Technician Scheme", not sure what stage it is, but I´ve booked for the 25th April. Most of you are future ATCOs, is someone in the Engineering process? Anyway, I was wondering if somebody is there on the 24th and wants to grab a drink and shake off the nerves. Also what are you guys doing to get prepared?, I mean, any tips on how to get ready for it or what are the key topics for the interview or the test, I´m kind of lost on what to expect. |
Hi,
I'll be attending Stage 3 on Mon 18th April, anybody else booked for the same day? Please feel free to drop me a line :) I'd love to know how anybody else who attended Stage 2 on Monday 11th did?? Good luck everyone! |

Hi,
I sat the DART Test yesterday and am now eagerly waiting for a response. How did everyone else find it? |
I'm in for Stage 2 on the 28th having last applied 6 years ago and making the second stage back then.
I was of the understanding that it was just FEAST and DART tests at this stage now however received an mail this morning stating they've introduced a new stage which requires reading and learning some ATC/NATS info that is to be tested before the FEAST commences. A bit of a surprise at this late stage but fortunately I still have my ATC book and notes from the last time when this was a required part and I have already been looking over these. Any one sat the assessment day recently and sat this test? Going back through the forum and no one mentions it so perhaps it's only just been re-introduced |
P P Powerbook
That's a bit rough for those that are there today!!! Or do you mean they have sent you literature to read before you go for your stage 2? |
Sandpit, it is to be read before attending the day and tested before the FEAST commences

Age restrictions
Hi guys this might be a bit of topic, but nats recently removed their age restrictions for older applicants. Do you know if they recruited recently somebody in their 30s?

Hi folks, I've been offered a conditional place on the course starting on the 6th of June - pending my medical which I have booked for Thursday.
Just wondering if anyone else on here will be on the course and might be looking for a flatmate? Obviously I'd rather stay with someone on the course than find somewhere myself, and if Thursday goes well it'll be time to start looking! |

Thanks 1985, by your tag I can tell it was you, have you been successful?
There have been a number of over 30s and their success rates are consistent with the other age groups. |

Paldo2301 to be honest my username isn't indicative of my age... I've been doing it for 13 years already.

That's fantastic to hear, some of post from the guys here claim, that the recruitment process takes anything from 6 to 18 months. Is that correct?
They have increased the numbers being taken because of a shortage at the units. That means the stage 2 and 3 days are more frequent and the wait for a course after passing stage 3 is less. |
Good news!
Hi folks,
Took my DART test last Tuesday and found out on the Wednesday that I had passed. Went for Stage 3 yeasterday and found out today that I have been offered a place subject to a medical! Ecstatic doesn't really cover my emotion right now! Anyone else had the same news yet? Look forward to meeting some of you in June! |

It could be shorter. It depends on the availability of stage 2 and 3 days and whether you can make those dates.

Hey I sat my stage 3 on Monday 25th April, and just been offered a place conditional to passing the medical! Start date is 6th June.
@Paldo2301 it has only taken 3 months from start to end of the recruitment process, so it seems to be moving much quicker at the moment which is great, and yes there are several over-30's in all stages of the recruitment process so don't let that put you off there is a complete mixture of ages from 18-40's. |

Good News
Hello all,
I was also one of the ones who was in the Stage 3 interviews on the 25th April and have been offered a conditional place to start in a course later this year. If anyone gets similar news please drop me a PM, would be great to hear from you :) |
@jay92 Congrats! Glad to hear another one of us got through! Sounds like you're not planning on joining the June intake? I'll try send you a PM with details about facebook group anyway
|
@Tom333 Thanks, you too! I believe the June intake had already been filled when I was contacted so I will be waiting for one of the courses later in the year, otherwise I would have loved to join you all in June :)
|
@tom333 @jay92 congrats on getting through! I had my stage 3 back in March and was unable to start in June so have been given a start date of August 12th subject to medical etc maybe you will be on this one jay92?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows the time frame from applying to hearing anything?
Thanks |
Is anyone heading to the stage 3 interviews on 6th June?
|
Hello all! I booked my stage 2 for the 19th of May, but I have a small question...
I passed FEAST and DART when I applied for Eurocontrol (earlier this year), so do I need to retake those tests or am I only required to take that ATC knowledge test? |
Hi all, Have been reading this for a while, I have got my stage 2 on Friday 20th. Is anyone down the night before that fancies a drink/coffee?
Am gathering that the ATC knowledge test has now been re-introduced. Not sure on the level of detail we need to know, but fingers crossed it's not too much as there are people applying from all back grounds. But anyway I digress. Good luck to all and i hope to see some of you on the 20th. |
Hi Coffee31 I have got my stage 3 aassesment on the 6th.
How are you getting on with learning your pack? |
Hi,
I finished by ATC NATS application yesterday and have been invited to do the online tests. Could anyone shed any light as to what these online tests consist of and the difficulty of them? I really want to pursue a career as a ATC so any help would be much appreciated! Thanks :) |
Hi thedip,
I'll be at the assessment centre on the 20th too and will be down in Southampton the night before. Not sure how to message you on here, but would be up for a coffee to calm the nerves and go over some of the knowledge part! |
Hi Seeg,
Sounds good, i'm driving down from Newcastle tomorrow, so not 100% sure what time i'll be there hopefully around 18:00. I can't get the PM's to work either so feel free to email me @ [email protected] and we can exchange numbers to arrange to meet. |
Those who are doing the Stage 2, I can tell you that the ATC Knowledge test is fairly easy, just study that booklet and you will pass it for sure.
I recommend you to use public transportation as if there is any kind of congestion you will fail this stage... For example, today we were supposed to be 6, but due to an accident at the motorway, only 2 (me and another guy) got there. They delayed the assessment about 40 minutes but still there was no sign of them, so they continued without them and I'm unsure if they failed the assessment or if they can have another go.... |
Any news after 16 May Stage 3?
Greetings. Has anyone who did stage 3 on 16 May heard either Yes or No yet?

Hello.
I'm 18 years old and I've got a place to study Computer Science at University later this year. However, I've recently been searching for a part-time job for over the summer. Whilst job-hunting I discovered ATC and whilst I realise that it's obviously a full-time career decision, it's piqued my interest. I have passed Stages 0 and 1 and now have the opportunity to book a date for Stage 2. My question is this: How much time would I need to dedicate to Stages 2, 3 and 4 knowing that it's not even that likely that I would get the job? I still want to go to university to study Computer Science, but if I had a guaranteed place to go on the NATS training program I would absolutely take it. If University is a 9/10, then NATS would be a 10/10. It sounds like a fantastic career. I would be fine with taking part in Stages 2, 3 and 4 if they just take a couple days each. As I could do this in the summer/christmas/spring breaks whilst I'm at university. But if there's anything that could take several days or more than a week then it's not really an option for me. My other question is: For how long am I able to choose my Stage 2 date? I received the email with the link to pick my date, but I'm not sure how long I would be able to leave it for before it might expire. |
The tests are each a maximum of 1 day. I think with the recent changes they all now take roughly a standard office day to complete.
