Hi guys, I am going to Southampton on 15th oct.
Would be really nice to meet some of you.
I need to practice english and this is the reason why
I still did not get the Stage 2.

Another questions: 'Dress-code' means shirt, jacket and tie?
Do I have to shave my beard?

I hope to hear you soon.
See you.

Massimiliano

Megamc 9th October 2015 18:19

Hi maggamuff

when will you have your stage 2?

And about dress-code, is because someone :ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh: went to the stage 2 wearing flip flops and swimshort :ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh:

Of course he was invited to leave the installations :mad::mad:

I have my stage 2 on 19th oct.

maggamuff 9th October 2015 18:24

really? :)

I've missed 2 possibile dates of Stage 2, but I am quickly moving to Southampton
(14th I will be in London then I'll move as soon as I can in Southampton
and I am looking for at least 2-3 months flat's rental too).
I need to switch my 'inner-voice' in english.
I am more scared about this than what I will do on the test's day.

I hope I can have a chance to meet someone who can help me out and someone to hang out with too ;)

Megamc 9th October 2015 18:26

yes :ouch:

lol

maggamuff 9th October 2015 18:32

Thank you.
Looking forward to hear some more news.

Ciao :)

Hi

it is announced that in 3rd round of testing after feast, dart personality and other test, we are gonna have some TEAMwork check.

it is not NATS i am talking about, but some other firm in other country :)

Megamc 13th October 2015 13:35

but by now

ruthmsa 14th October 2015 17:58

The same happened to me but then it changed back again to the previous one. Keep clicking on the link. I managed to book my assessment date like that and I did it five days in advance. Good luck to you as well.

Stages of Application

Hi all,

First time posting here, but been reading many of these posts for the last couple of weeks. Hope you are all doing well. The successful few looking forward to Dec 7th?

Im right at the beginnig of the application process and, I wont lie, the end seems a long way off. I have my link for the initial online assessments, going to set aside time at the weekend and have a go at this. Any ideas on what to expect (I dont want to be caught by surprise)? Or do the example questions reflect what I will see?

Thanks

Moyes

Hi guys
I'm new on here but been keeping an eye on this thread for a while, especially since I too have been on the waiting list for a good while! So I thought it would be a good time to say hello!
I've got my stage 2 in December, and hoping it's second time lucky! Last took the tests in November 2012 and it looks like a lot has changed in that time. Reading everyone's posts I have found very helpful, particularly words from those who have completed the process and have been accepted onto courses. Looking forward to the challenge, the countdown is on! :):):)

I'm sorry to hear that Keyholder....:(

Megamc 2nd November 2015 14:20

Hi SwanseaSky!!

When do you have your stage 2?

SwanseaSky 2nd November 2015 22:19

Hi Megamc
I've got my Stage 2 on 10th December. 5 weeks to go...!! Passed my Stage 1 in May 2014 so have been hanging in there! How did yours go?

Cpteffron 3rd November 2015 11:22

Hi all,

Recently had my stage 2 and found out the next day I passed! (Was expecting a longer wait!) Just wondering how long people generally had to wait for the invite to stage 3 after passing 2?

Also anyone have any questions about stage 2 feel free to ask me while its fresh in my brain! Although I don't think there is much prep you could do for it, seems more just a case of either you're suited to the role or you're not.

Thanks

Megamc 3rd November 2015 19:00

Hi SwanseaSky

I I missed my chance :ugh:and now i'm waiting againg for a free day...... to do it, so... maybe 10th december......

yingyangryder 3rd November 2015 23:08

Hi everyone, still waiting for a stage 2 date.

I`ve seen quite a few cancellations coming in but they are always 1 or 2 days before the actual stage 2 assessment. Unfortunately this isn`t long enough for me to be able to get to the centre. Has anyone ever seen a cancellation with a notice period longer than 2 days?

crackinbloke 4th November 2015 19:25

Last minute Stage 2, any help appreciated!

Hello all, first time poster and would like to say I appreciate everyone's help on here, its been very useful indeed.

I'd like to ask for more if possible as I have just booked on a last minute Stage 2 on Friday (crikey!?!) and wondered if anyone had any pointers to help me through the day? My gut feeling is to agree with cpteffron in that there isn't much to practice (and I don't have time to learn anything from scratch!) but it'd be nice to be aware. Also I'm looking to get a hotel tomorrow night if any has any recommendations? Also what is the parking like at the CTC?

Might be of use to people to know that I got the chance by trying the link without waiting for a reminder email as I found it very difficult with my current job to keep an eye on my emails, especially in the mornings, which others may struggle with too, just thought I'd mention it

Again, any help is much appreciated, its going to be a hectic 48 hours but all good practice I hope?!

collapsed 12th November 2015 08:08

Is there any preparation you can do/have to do for it?
I keep getting emails saying "we got a spot in 2 days" so I'm just wondering whether a short-notice test will be any different. Do they send you any reading you have to do before the test?

jamesrafferboy 12th November 2015 12:15

Stage 3

Hi all, first time posting here but have been reading for a while. I just passed my Stage 2 tests on Monday (woohoo!!) and really want to start getting prepped for the Stage 3 interviews as soon as possible. Is there anyone here who might be able to send me a quick PM just outlining possible questions and an advice? Would be much appreciated.

I want to get in so much, but my interview technique is never the best :ugh:

Thanks, guys!

Oh and if anyone wants to ask me questions about the Stage 2 FEAST and DART tests, just PM me :)

big5teve 9th December 2015 19:53

Stage 2 Result

Hi,

Thanks for all the info that everyone has provided already.

I recently took the Stage 2 Assessment and got through to take the DART test. I was just wondering how long it took before people were given the result of their test? I've seen a few people saying that they heard the next day, and it's been longer than that. I wasn't going to hold my breath given how long it took from passing Stage 1 to having the Stage 2, but then I started reading things on here...

Any help or reassurance would be much appreciated.

If anyone would like to, feel free to ask about Stage 2 whilst it's still relatively fresh in my mind, and I'll try to help if I can.

Megamc 10th December 2015 06:20

Congratulation big5teve :D:D:D:D :ok:

I would like to ask you by PM or email, can you enable it?

Mc

AirCrafficTontroller 11th December 2015 23:32

Stage 3

Did stage 2 today and I think I did reasonably well on the DART. Not getting my hopes up too soon but can anyone who's done stage 3 recently (since they changed the application format) give me an idea of what it is? What sort of things will I be quizzed on? I've never had an interview before so I'm not too sure what to expect! Would like to be as prepared as possible in case I do happen to pass stage 2.

EDIT: For anyone wondering for info about stage 2: The FEAST is pretty much the online stage 1 tests. There's an app you can get for like €25 but don't waste your money on it. They aren't really tests you can prepare for, and the whole point of the FEAST is that you should be able to do it on the spot.

DART is guiding aircraft on a radar screen. Again, not really essential to prepare for this. Improving your multitasking skills wouldn't do any harm though. It was fairly similar to a lot of the ATC games you find online.

Megamc 12th December 2015 09:03

Hi AirCrafficTontroller,

Can we talk by PM ?

Megamc.

LouiseFraser 14th December 2015 21:20

Long time stalker, first time poster ;)

After passing the online test in April 2014 I have finally gotten a stage 2 test date on Tuesday 19th January 2016!!

Anyone else on here on the same day?

TaelS 15th December 2015 23:29

Hi all,

I've recently passed Stages 0+1, and I'm waiting for the invitation for Stage 2. I haven't received any invitation yet (in the email I've received about Stage 2, it speficied "We are not currently holding any assessment dates"), which I thought was something to expect given the fact most of you have been waiting for months (even years!); however, the NATS Twitter account said the following today:
https://twitter.com/NATSCareers/stat...04466348318720

Are you waiting for #TATC Stage 2 testing? Slots are now open - Please book before all slots go. Testing is between 11th and 19th Jan 2016.
Is there anything I'm missing here? Because I'm waiting for the Stage 2 testing but I don't know how to book a slot (there was no link in the email they sent me when I passed Stage 1).

I've even checked my account in the "vacancies system" of NATS, in the "Event Invitations" section, but I don't have any invitation there.

Thanks in advance!

Hello all,

I’ve finally got my stage 2 booked for 11th Jan 2016.
If anyone else is booked in for this date, let me know :)

Good luck to everyone for any upcoming tests/interviews :)

I imagine you just have to wait for them to email you the link. I waited fourteen months for the link and another six months before a date was actually available on the link.

Thank you very much LouiseFraser. It's a pity knowing I have to wait several months, but at least now I know I'm not missing anything, as I was afraid of that.

Good luck!

April 2016 course in Brisbane

I found out a couple of weeks ago that I was lucky enough to make it through and offered a position on the course starting in Apr 2016, and in Brisbane not Melbourne.
It would be great to hear from anyone else out there starting on the same course. Feel free to PM me.
Good luck everyone else.

Brisbane? Is that in the North or in the South of the UK, mate? :)

Cpteffron 22nd December 2015 17:17

Hi all,

Recently got given my stage 3 interview for 25th Jan! (Exciting times)

Bit confused though, states its just a competency based interview but lasts 8am - 4pm... Anyone have any insight as to why this is? What else have we got to do on the day?

Thanks.

crackinbloke 26th December 2015 19:45

I've got my stage 3 on the 25th Jan too, see you there cpteffron! I managed to pass my last minute stage 2 test so if anyone is wondering if its possible, it is! You can't really practice for it, just answer quickly and accurately. Put as bluntly as I was advised beforehand, you either can do it or you can't. It may seem harsh but it should give you confidence if you pass.

I do have the same question as cpteffron, it may simply be a defined time period to allow people to organise transport to and from the CTC and the interview itself will be at some point within that period. The rest of the time you just wait maybe? Again, any pointers would be greatly appreciated either on here or as a PM.

Regards

Request Orbit 26th December 2015 21:10

It's changed in format since I did it a few years ago, but at that point a large proportion of that time was spent waiting your turn for an interview. The majority of the day was spent chatting to the other people on your Stage 3.

TaelS 1st January 2016 12:52

I got the invitation at the end, so I booked my stage 2 test for the 15th :)

HarryDibden 6th January 2016 13:02

Hello

I have been following this tread for a while now, thought it was time to say hello and thanks for all the tips and advice.

I have my Stage 2 tests on the 18th January, anyone else attending that day?

ATC FEAST & DART

Hey bud, what do the FEAST and DART tests involve? thanks

The-Kenyan 7th January 2016 14:50

NATS stage 2/ 3

So This is my second time applying for NATS, last time I failed on the competency based interview, I have my stage 2 coming up on the 13th of Jan, hopefully I'll make it back to stage 3 and pass where I went wrong last time.

for those doing stage 2, theres not much you can do to prepare for it, what I did last time for prep was find games that involve you multitasking and ask a friend to read out simple maths questions to you and ask you to wait 20 seconds to give the answer while still playing the game on your iPad or what ever. Felt this helped the most. As for Stage 3, it's tricky. I can't give any advice as I didn't pass last time, just be prepared for tricky questions, and what ever you do don't panic (Like I did).

Good Luck all ;)

AirCrafficTontroller 9th January 2016 00:47

Just wondering if you can give any sort of info of what to prepare for? Will they ask the usual "tell me about yourself" or "why do you want the job" etc. ? It says "competency based interview" so I'm not exactly sure what they're looking for.

jamesrafferboy 10th January 2016 20:34

Stage 3

Hi everyone! I've finally got my Stage 3 interview on the 27th January, anyone else going that day??

Has anyone been to stage 3 recently, if so please can I DM you? I'm currently preparing questions and answers but would like some advice. Thanks guys :)
