TREMENDOUS NEWS

Spot

Great News Spot, we always knew you were innocent but there was always the fear that the CM would reach the wrong verdict. Thank god they were wise.

May I add my congratulations to the whole team for achieving this correct result.

Safeskys would like to pledge £1,000 towards any Defence Costs which come your way.

The truth will out. Justice has been done and most importantly has been seen to be done. I am so pleased for Spot and his family, for the defence team and all those volunteers who kept us so very well informed. Their efforts were not in vain.

From us at CATC, including some very recently ex-"light blues", heartiest congratulations and best wishes.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Spot and Sue,

Congratulations, we're absolutely elated for you. Justice at last. Trust that you will soon be back to enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

We hope that the GATCO investigation gets to the bottom of how the BoI was manipulated against the truth and how the whole thing came to CM, in order that your suffering should not have been in vain.

Many thanks to your close support team for keeping us informed, it is important that we should all understand what happened at the hearing. I'm sure that the prosecution would rather have kept us all in the dark. Your defence team were great, but no less than you deserved.

Very best wishes for a happy future,

Yours in relief,

JT

Talking

Spot, Sue Family and Supporters.

This is absolutely fantastic. News of the outcome of this trial came through the grapevine as planned and everyone in VOY were delighted.

It is sad that you have been put through this ordeal and sad also that the families of Lt Col Hyvonen and Capt Jones are left unsure as to what really happened. Senior members of our service could have prevented this from ever reaching this stage and the truth established long ago.

As for truth, I am under the impression that prosecution information was tampered with or altered inorder for it to fit their case (?) Is it not a very serious offence to attempt to pervert the cause of justice? I am keen to find the answer to this.

Finally, I am sure that Spot and Sue would like to get away from all of this so I suggested to my colleagues that we could all chip-in some hard-earned and send them away somewhere nice for a week or so. No-one asked how much, just where can I pay? Are there any young thrusters out there willing to organize this? If not I will!!!!!

Well done mate

F15 Court Martial (JOKE!)

Have followed this farce all along and have had to restrain myself from posting some very strong comments over the clear evidence pointing to Spot's innocence.
All I can say now is, that for Spot's sake, I'm glad it's over - what hell you and your family must have gone through in the last 2 yrs.
For those of us still working for those @$%£?rs (add your own letters) who run military ATC, watch your backs and pray that the RAF will, in their words "normally support someone who follows the rules"!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH

Spot & Sue, if the Deafen Inn was still open there would be formation bar diving in your honour and the champagne would flow all night. As for getting back home, well you never had a problem in the past, on or off a bike!!!!

Well done defence and support team.

A quiet moment for the aircrew families.

All the best for the future.

Spot & Family,

Having just left the Service after 36 years of flying, I have been following the events of the past weeks. No doubt we have conversed over the R/T on many occasions in my time flying Nimrods, Canberras et al... I have been appalled at the turn of events. I believe that this whole affair should never have seen the light of day - it smacks of mis-placed political correctness.

Since the beginning I could not understand the need for this action. RIS is clearly defined and I could not figure how you could have been castigated to the extent you suffered. As a professional, it mattered not a jot whether I was under RIS, RAS or Control - it was up to me to decide the safety of my crew. Like 'do you mean turn left instead of right?' (Italian ATC in hilly area - 'sorry, turn left...') Avoid the hill -

I have always have had a tremendous respect for the ATC part of the team - for that's what we are.

I am so sorry that you and your family have been put through this ordeal - it should never have happened. I am delighted that you have been so rightly exhonerated - now get on with your life.

However, stuff the RAF for ALL your costs - sue them for every penny you can screw out of them - you thoroughly deserve it.

Malcolm, although we don't know each other, I would just like to say how much I am delighted with the verdict, and how much I admire the dedication and professionalism of the ATC Branch.

We are a team.....

Congratulations Spot ! I am absolutely delighted by the news that you have been found not guilty on all charges. The steadfast way that you have stood your ground over the last two years is a great credit to you, your family and many supporters.

My hill walking companion and myself - we were both eye witnesses - also feel we have been found " not guilty" by the Court's verdict. In the eyes of the prosecution we were a couple of deluded, fabricating, time wasting blockheads. This is a marvellous result for us personally.

Once again Well Done and Good Luck.

Regards

Congratulations on finally getting this over with with your name cleared. I have been following the thread from the start and I have been appalled by the turn of events. It should never have come this far.

I think the RAF, and the entire MoD have some serious soulsearching to do now they are sending professionals into harms way again, while showing an utter lack of responsibility in the way same professionals are treated by their seniors.

I hope you'll be able to leave all this behind you and get on with your life, just the wiser for it.

All the best.

Top result, very best wishes to Spot and Sue (and the families of the pilots) who hopefully can now get on with their lives. Well done to Mike Jones, Dick Doleman (how IS the Beagle Pack?) and the rest of Spot's true and stalwart friends.

As for the RAF - thanks for reminding me that hanging up my blue suit was the best career move I ever made.

I'm off to raid the fridge. Cheers!!

Very many congratulations on the only possible outcome to such a ridiculous fiasco.

Spot, I don't think I have ever met you and I don't know you personally. However, like many ATCOs on this forum and throughout our profession, I feel I have lived through a very small part of the anguish and frustration you and Sue must have experienced over many months. Few, if any issues in my twenty odd years in ATC have united ALL controllers, civil and military. They have shared complete abhorrence of this case and the management of what we all recognised as a tragic accident.

Although I fear your attitude to the RAF and perhaps to your profession may be tarnished forever, try to take some solace from the sure fact that possibly no single event in the short history of ATC in the UK has ever united ALL members of YOUR profession in unequivocal support for one person - YOU!

I wish you, your family and friends all the very best for the future and look forward to reading about GATCO's continued efforts in establishing exactly why this unnecessary fiasco ever took place.
