Stage 2.

Can't get a refund for my accommodation either, really can't afford to be losing this sort of money right now as I'm out of work for the next few weeks

First stage

Hi all, I was just wondering if everyone has heard back from their stage 1 yet?
I sat mine on the 1st at 9am, got through the first exam and managed to answer around 80% on the next two tests.
So far I haven't heard a thing, so I can only assume that I haven't made the grade, but thought I would ask if everyone else is in the same boat!

Jimbo125 - that's really not good, will NATS not accept a request for refund or anything? They must understand that we can't all afford two lots of accom/transport costs!

@Jfalc

I'm waiting on news regarding refunds.

My accommodation cost me £75 which is non-refundable due to the type of booking and my train ticket cost me £40 which I apparently can't refund either.

I have now had to lay out £80 for another hotel which is further away from the testing centre and will have to borrow some money for the train ticket.

Not the start to the day I was hoping for

refunds.

i'd get on to their hr/pr department, or whatever it's called, and ask for a refund cos that's pretty poor from them at such short notice.
i duno if it'd work but it's worth a try.

@ rr . If you phone HR with a matter of recruitement they will transfer you to a robot and you have to leave a message which MIGHT be answered in 2 working days . Best bet is to borrow , attend and then ask for a refund . I wonder about those who lost an airline ticket ...

@woj, Other people have heard back mate. I sat mine on the 4th and still nothing. Taking into consideration that other people have heard back and in some cases, sat stage 2, it would certainly appear, although not be conclusive, that we didn't quite make it. I've certainly prepared myself for a disappointing email at some point in the near future. There's always the possibility that in some cases it does take two full weeks to receive a response, either positive or negative.

in the past, positive responses have been received that took more than a few days to come through - myself included - so don't lose all hope.

Application

Hey tim, I applied back in August and still not heard from them in writing since my online test. I called and they said I had passed but still had no confirmation or invite to stage one. Only thing is I think they are pushing x amount of candidates through the full process for a November start.

Annoying news for those of us with trains and accommodation booked
I got that phone call yesterday morning advising me the tests today (Tues) were cancelled due to computer failures or something, and that new dates would be released - having seen from other posts how quickly released dates were disappearing as people booked onto them.

Got my email through less than an hour later and to my surprise the 10am session for Tues was on the list of choices

Anyway there was another slot for tomorrow (Wed) so I've booked onto that instead.

The only difference about the email confirmation is the length of the day. My first booking said to be there for 8:30 as the testing day was 9:00 - 16:30.

This new booking says the day is 10:00 - 15:30, shorter at both ends of the day, and no mention of getting there so early.

To anyone that has already been to the NATS HQ in Fareham - what was the parking like? On my way back from stage 1 I drove to the office to see it and it seemed as if every available piece of space - sides of road, grassy areas etc. were being used to park on

Parking spaces are few, as I've understood it the amount of spaces have been reduced to promote bus travel, only problem is that no buses actually go to that area (AFAIK anyway)...

I applied for Stage 1 on the 8th July. They still haven't sent me the invite to do the online test. I have emailed them a few times since then and all I get back is someone telling me my application is still being considered/someone will let me know.

I applied last year and had no problems at all, but this year it's ridiculous. Is anyone else in the same situation as me?

If you read through the last 20 pages of this thread you'll find out that many RE-applicants are in the exact same boat .

@woj

i sat the same test (9am on the 1st) and haven't heard either. i did email them () and they just said 15 days hadn't passed, so at least no outright no.

loads of people seem to have got results but i haven't seen anyone at our sitting post a pass or fail yet...maybe our group has ended up bottom of a pile somewhere.
