Very typical - the company having reasonably happy pilots goes under while another company having somewhat unhappy pilots is doing quite ok, actually much better than most others.

If true in my opinion a decision has already been made regarding the ATOL I just can't see the same happening again after bringing in other airlines from all over the world just to send them home again in a few days time.

If true, seems strange to pos them directly to the UK? If it is the close up of the airline, the chartered flights will only be used to repatriate those overseas pax back to the UK on an ATOL protected holiday surely?

I suppose the only other explanation could be that its easier for the crew to be accommodated in the UK.

However, after last year and the CAA admitting it was an over the top exercise, if they really are on the way I would also say something has been finalised. I would also expect the likes of Titan to be awaiting on standby too... Very sad times. I also feel a bitterness against the management that have directed it in this way. Shameful.

I’d suggest very few Monarch pilots are 737 rated.
I’d also suggest very few would consider Ryanair.
With the global pilot market still buoyant, the majority will look elsewhere. Hopefully it won’t come to that though.

On another note I heard that there is a AirTransat A310 on standby in MRS
However this is unconfirmed.

The flights that went into Stansted were filed under BA flight numbers a few days ago. One of my close friends is operating one of the flights and has been called in from standby. The aircraft have been blocked out for at least the next two weeks. The flights are showing in the Qatar Ops system. Always chance of a last min change of plans as originally all 10 were coming to uk a few days ago and in the end only two operated to STN.

Just passing on what I have been told from reliable sources that I trust. I’m certainly not trolling.

Chidken Sangwich....This time as last you can lay this firmly at the door of the private equity company...obviously there must be "issues" within the enterprise that is MON which worries the CAA a lot & which none of us are privy too..It could also signal that this time also they are v concerned about MON`s pax falling between the gaps of any carve up of the Empire..
Have the CAA launched a rescue fleet in association with any other operator at any time..
Look....the CAA have a responsibility toward protecting the passengers & full marks to them...you may also argue last time it strong armed private equity to stump up at the last minute,therefore saving the tax payer the cost of all those repatriation flights..

The last communication from the company to staff was from Mr Swaffield earlier today thanking them for not going sick and telling them all flights left on time.
Very sad times indeed.

Hope Monarch survive this, ditch Swaffield and Greybull and get themselves back like the good old days. Will be weird not seeing Monarch aircraft flying about, would be even worse seeing them painted bright orange or in WizzAir livery.

A310 C-FDAT and A332 C-GTSZ are on stand by in BOD with the rest of the crew resting in Manchester.

Do Monarch have a time by which all their planes would be back home in blighty safely tucked up in a British bed?

I`m just perhaps clarifying one small item..they arrived STN calling & wearing QTR trip numbers...Perhaps then in the bigger or company systems they were BAW allotted ..
There tho v probably is a BAW connection with their use of QTR A320`s during their strikes & Qatari interests in BAW..& possibly BAW therefore helping the CAA with the sourcing of a fleet...availability being reduced because of natural disaster airlifts around the world.

Monarch is over- the CAA have allowed extra time for a sale to go through. Thank goodness their a/c are not parked up in various parts of Europe tonight.

I was wondering the same thing just say the ATOL runs out at 2359 would a flight scheduled to land back in the UK at say 0230 be able to operate I'm guessing it would but to be honest I'm not sure.
