does anyone know what aircraft will operate the route?

Just found details on the Manx2 timetable about the up coming ORK-GWY route. As already posted it looks like the route will launch on 02 July. The timetable looks like this:

I personally think NM should develop a base in GLO or open routes from OXF. It would be good to see the following routes launched:

GLO to EDI, GLA, DUB, BHD and NCL

OXF to EDI and NCL (Replacing Varsity)

CWL - HLY, INV-SYY-BEB and mail flights from INV to KOI and LSI ( Replacing Highland Airways)

Manx2 : Flights from the Isle of Man to Blackpool, Belfast, Leeds , Gloucester (M5), Jersey, East Midlands and Newcastle.

May god have mercy on there souls!!! Cork to Galway!!! Me thinks they are getting there toes in the irish market before the next round of PSO tenders. July this year or next I think its up and with RE tied up with EI now a lot more maybe they think they have a chance on the DUB-LDY,DUB-CFN,DUB-NOC etc routes and especially with all the Galic sounding names... mite actually be a v v cleaver move. I wonder if they were "asked" by someone to come into Ireland and get the brand known?? Mmmmmm interesting!

Didnt the Euromanxies fly out of Galway for a while. Difference is, they were a proper outfit with their own aircraft and crew not like Manxy Too which is still a ticket agent after all this time. Virtual airlines - Isle of man is about the only place I know where outfits like Manxy Too and the first Euromanx have ever operated like this successfully.

I think Euros ran IOM GWY on FRI and SUN to position the 146 to operate GWY CDG (paris). I cant believe Manxy2 will run IOM GWY direct -maybe once a week to rotate airframes and position crews?

There model seems to have worked in IOM and maybe it will transfer to the small Irish routes. Certainly with the spare capacity around here at the moment I can see why they want a few eggs in other baskets.

A proper outfit. Shurely shome mishtake. They too were a ticket agency hiring in airlines as needed. At least Manx2 have stuck around longer and appear to making a better fist of things.

Any idea if/when they might announce more services?

Daffy - cant let you get away that , fella. Own aircraft, pilots and hosties paid off the payroll and an AOC even if it was a bit dodgy. Dont get muddled with the first euromanx cos they did what the MAnxy Too people are doing now. Hiring in aircraft and crews and just issuing the tickets.:ok:

Is this announcement of the ORK-GWY the so called expansion that has been talked about in earlier post or are there more route announcements expected soon?

Hi IOMSPOTTER, I think Manx2 did Galway to London City 2 per day if I remember correctly. In addition, Galway to Faro and Malaga were operated.

Galway Paris cdg via IOM was also flown. Not quite sure about how these performed.

I would imagine that FARO and Malaga did reasonably well as Aer Arann through Nex Aviation took these routes on the next year.

They didnt stay long, not sure exactly why but Ryanair Shannon activity may have played a part!

I would expect more. From Manx2 press release on 7th April

"Over the next two years, the Isle of Man based company will be launching a number of new routes outside of the Island, as it takes its award-winning service to England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. These new routes will be announced shortly."

thay are also starting flight from Caldwell - Holyhead starting may 3rd

Why GWY BFS not BHD? Shurely BHD is the one for domestics?

i think the manx2 new route from Caldwell - Holyhead must be Cardiff to Anglesey because it is the flight times as Highland Airways did

i thought BHD would be the obious joice! as there's a Daily ORK-BHD route, unless Manx2 couldnt get slots? it operates twice-daily after all GWY-BFS...

The latest news gathered from the Wales Air Network news centre is that the North/South Wales airlink decision has been delayed until after the election.

so manx2 must be doing a diffrent route from anglesey airport because it is the only airport at holyhead
