citywing.com just directs back to manx2.com :ugh: but theres more stuff about it all on a citywing facebook page.:ooh:
|
The brand equity of Manx2 is likely to be dragged comprehensively through the mud at some point in the next couple of months when the AAIU report on the Cork accident comes out. Will a rebranding be enough?

Is it me or is the new logo just a rip of Tame Ecuador logo?

Citywing
Interesting to see how with the up and coming investigations to be published that manx2 the local travel agency decides to change its name. I wonder if a brand new holding company has been set up so then if any compensation is due to be paid they can say the company has been dissolved.
Bet your bottom dollar when the investigations are published all will happen will be all news articles will start with manx2.com now selling tickets as citywing....... Flybe Easyjet must be killing them on the northwest routes with fares as low as 16 quid plus 18 quid national express to Leeds. Will a name change be enough for the travel agency that brands itself an airline, only time will tell. |
any chance someone could confirm for me current position as to which aircraft types usually used to operate which routes for Manx2/Citywing? thanks

Citywing
As a frequent passenger on their Gloucester-IOM service I can tell you that my future booked flights are on the Let410 of Vanair. To me it's a more comfortable aircraft than the previous D228 of FLM. Not sure of other routes though. Paul

This is surely dependent on what companies will be operating on behalf of Citywing.
Currently Links Air operate two aircraft and Van Air operate three on behalf of Manx2.com Links Air - Jetsream 31 Van Air Europe - Let 410 One of the Links Air aircraft are currently based at Cardiff operating the Valley service so theres more chance of a Van Air Europe aircraft being on your route from the Isle of Man than Links Air. |
OK, thanks guys

I notice that Manx2 have put a Saturday only route to Jersey on sale for summer 2013, beginning mid May - from memory I believe this is at a significantly lower frequency than the route in summer 2012. This also follows the effective termination of Manx2's routes out of Oxford (ignoring the 2 weeks around the IoM TT)
I realise that Manx2 sell seats on small aircraft, but when one-way leisure-oriented fares begin at between £85 and £100 depending on date for what is a relatively short hop, it seems a little surprising, particularly when competing airports with routes to Jersey like Bristol and Birmingham are not that far away. Are these fares simply a corollary of puddle jumpers with high costs per passenger operating the route, or is there some other reason behind this ? |
Citywing to Newcastle
Hi - The three Citywing flights that I've seen in 2013 at Newcastle have been operated by LET 410's OK-ASA and OK-UBA.
