Erm...these will be routes AWAY from the IOM...

OMGitsDAVE 13th April 2010 19:50

So Durham Tees Valley gain a flight? Things are looking up a bit now!

Chitty 13th April 2010 20:08

yer these flights would be away from the isle of man manx2 are doing flight away from the isle of man flight like iom to mee to lcy would be the same as iom the glo to jer

OMGitsDAVE 13th April 2010 20:10

So in effect, MME receives flights from IOM & LCY? Or what?

Chitty 13th April 2010 20:24

IOMspotter 13th April 2010 20:38

IOM Amsterdam in a metro - now that would work. 2x daily.

GLOworm 13th April 2010 20:46

Strange as it sounds I believe it IS Galway - Cork

Chitty 13th April 2010 20:49

Cork-Galway Manx2

is it true where is the information and who many times weekly will it operate?

No sign of in anywhere else?

Chitty 13th April 2010 21:18

i think manx2 next new route will be from Anglesey to cardiff which Highland Airways use to do

ALLMCC 13th April 2010 21:30

Cork - Galway details are in the on line timetable although not yet bookable. I wonder would Belfast City to Blackpool direct work instead of via IOM. I know Jet2 do BFS - BLK but a 737 is really the wrong a/c type for this sort of route.

GLOworm 13th April 2010 21:35

It's double daily weekdays and once daily weekends I believe.... Not so sure on the Welsh PSO though... I think you need an AOC for that one. Also there was a rumour a while back that they wanted a 30-seater on the route. Not that the loads needed it - I think the AMs just wanted to stretch their legs!

nav3 13th April 2010 21:35

Didn't Jetstream Express do that route a couple of years ago ?

Chitty 13th April 2010 21:42

yer Jetstream Express did do an blackpool to belfast route but it didnt do well so thay stopped flying from blackpool

GWY ORK

This is a bizarre choice as far as I can see. If there is an 0745 departure from GWY and back from ORK that leave the morning to afternoon stretch to fly somewhere else, maybe reopen the GWY BHD route? Or what about IOM?

However, when I heard 'Manx' and Galway in the same sentence I thought of Euromanx when they put a 146 into GWY to do LCY, IOM, FAO, AGP and CDG!!! At the face of it that seemed like a great idea.

I wish Noel Hayes and his team the best of luck on this venture, hopefully it succeeds and maybe some other services will pop up too.

I see that Chitty's flickr link rferring to the new route has been removed

numpty101 14th April 2010 13:08

Chester On The Cards???

Aparntly there starting up the chester route again, this time as a sceduled service!!! :ok: GOOD CHOICE!!!

IOMspotter 14th April 2010 14:28

sounds like an old Manx Airlines or Air UK schedule . IOM CEG GLO LCY ORK GWY BHD IOM

Kavs8 14th April 2010 19:38

The Galway-Cork route will be a very good service. There is currently a six-times daily Cork-Galway bus service (65-seater) and its one of Bus Éireann's most profitable routes.

I think next (hopefully) there could be a ORK-IOM, ORK-BFS/BHD, GWY-BFS/BHD.
