This number of passengers would not fit on the two remaining flights by quite a margin (nearly 100 per flight in Feb) so some passengers will be lost either to another airport or airline (Qatar?).
We were booked on early flight (both ways) now having to fly out evening before and come back at lunchtime. |

BHX rumoured to be going double daily A388 from 25.03.18
|
BHX averaged 374 pax per flight which equates to a 79% load factor.
Libhomeradar shows 34 77W sectors as 3 class and 10 sectors where the three class 380 operated, which is not bad for a route that must be struggling for such drastic action to be taken. I assume all down to yields unless anyone else can offer an alternative view. Another example where load factors mean nothing as EK41/2 has now stopped until the end of the month, restarts for 6 days before stopping again before restating for July and August before stopping completely at 31.8.2017 although routes online state it has finished already except for the few June dates. The March figures are quite interesting and although affected by Easter in April this year, MAN. NCL & LGW were down. Shame the 332's have gone as it would have been a perfect aircraft for EK41. |
Easter has a huge effect with students going home from Manchester University and holiday makers.
|
No different to the other airports I would imagine.
|
Ramadan will be even quieter across the whole region including SE Asia. However EID should see extra flights from the Gulf.
|
How come EK were operating a B777 into LGW today instead of an A380?
Short of crew or short of passengers? |
Ramadan reductions.
MAN and LGW see a B777 on the morning flight until 22nd June. BHX sees morning flight cut until same date. Lots of other reductions across network. |
Centre Cities Manchester has the highest intake of foreign student in the country.

Emirates ordering B787 soon?
Any idea or rumors circulating around Emirates going to buy 787s?
|
Nothing more that a rumor.
Emirates cancelled the A350 orders a few years ago, citing that the fleet requiremnts and demand did not justify the ac. A year ago Clark quipped that he would have A350 vs B787 contest (likely for price) to fill the gap below the 777. That was then this is now. Emirates profit has plummited over 80% recently, and so has its maket share with competition. The order will probably placed on price and availablity of the aircraft. The 777X is supposed to come online by 2020, so these delays may just be waiting for that ac rather than a either the 787 or 350 aircraft. Dubai airshow in November should be interesting. Not that my prefeerence means anything, but the A350 cabin and seats are much better than the B787. (and much quieter) The center overhead baggage on the 787 variants has been very noisey in every flight I have been on. The wing flex on the 350 is far more stable on ARR/DEP, as the 788 wing flex appears to be more of an albatros attempting to take flight, the Lazy B beed to look at that...and the associated wing flex turbulence effect on the cabin seems less on the 350 vs 787 |
We'll see at this year's Dubai Air Show in November. Can't imagine they will go for A350 again after they cancelled all their orders some time ago.
