I agree with you one minute they say they are going to make Southend a base then they decide to turn else where.
Do the management know which directing they want to be going. There may be other issues, they do seem to have had delays in receiving new Dash 8 aircraft. With the introduction of the EMB later on this year and crews leaving to go to bigger things some of there ambitions have not been able to come off because of delay in aircraft and crewing????. |

Sorry to thread drift, but is Inverness appearing on FLYBE's radar in the near future?
Rumours were rife last year but nothing heard since. If so, what chances a base? Ta for info. CRX. |
CRX
Sothend was being rumoured as being a base a year or so ago and the only connection there at the moment is a once a week from and two Jersey.
This is just for the summer again as they did the same in 2005 for the time being???. A lot of ideas seem to flow around in syber space so it might be just pie in the sky?? |
As a regular FlyBe passenger I'm getting rather irritated with the constant subtle fare increases.
First they put all base £19.99 fares up to £21.99 A month later they put them back down to £19.99 again, and start charging £2 for bags, justifying it because of the fare decreases. 2 weeks later they put the base fares back up to £21.99! Now it seems the baggage prices have gone up again, to £2.50 a sector, £5 on the day. Its not much, but its this niggling amendments to fares that get on passengers nerves at booking, and erodes that little bit of goodwill they might have had. Not to mention the safety compromises that are being made on so many flights these days with crazily oversized bags not fitting the overhead lockers and just being crammed in the seat areas instead. Thats for another thread though! |
GBALU53,
For someone who is keen on all aspects of Civil Aviation, according to your public profile, you seem to post an awful lot of information that appears to be ill thought out. Either you are speculating or are not very well informed. Southend was never considered as a base. And, the Q400 delivery program is on schedule with 10 planned to delivered this year, the next in a couple of weeks :8 |
AMS-SOU
Free2fly..... re AMS-SOU, I think BMI regional have got there first!

Godfroi
You are not close enough to the source of information by living in foreign parts it must get lost in the translation nes pas???
|
GBALU53,
I do not have to live in France to près de savez ce qui continue. A little research into Godfroi may well do you some good, but be cautious! It is a shame that you have to rely on snippets of information gleaned from threads posted in anger or ones that are purely speculative, based on weak rumour. |
I can't say who i am;) but i have alot of info on Flybe.
Firstly they are looking at France for a base they have 3 currently which they are looking at of course there will only be one, two in the north and one in the south. They aren't at the momment going to base out of Southend really it is quite close to Stansted. But they might put a few routes out of there. The EMB-195 look as tough the first one will be coming in October/November this year. Also they are looking at a major expansion from NWI to cities in Europe for this winter and also NWI will get the EMB-195 second after Southampton, Southampton will be getting one or 2 new routes and the same for Exeter! Also next year they are looking at putting a base and routes in Eastern Europe to UK and France when they hope to float on the stock exchange! They are also trying there hardest to cut down on the technical problems with there aircraft. Cheers MarkusNWI |
Flybe Norwich Routes
Now this is something i dont now about Flybe does anybody know how well Flybe are actually doing from NWI are there and staff who work for them there?
cheers MarkusNWI |
195's
Interesting as several other forums mentioned BHX get the first two.
I checked the first flybe press release and it is not specific but I thought there was a second but I can't find it. Mind you BHX has dropped somewhat in the flybe pecking order especially with one of the two based 733's going to NWI for the summer, this after achieving high load factors and seeing mytravellite close. I assume that yields were poor but nobody has confirmed this - anybody got the answer to this one? Luckily for BHX Monarch took up most of the slack, as the loss of VZ it went from too much capacity on some routes to not enough in a short space of time. OltonPete |

cheers MarkusNWI They just surrendered market share to Baby & Monarch, so I assume yields were low. CAA provisional stats March April ALC 3817 3914 (115 average pax) AGP 1911 3171 (88 average pax) MJV 193 1832 (74 average pax) FAO 381 2322 (96 average pax) DUB 2868 The figures in brackets are my estimates based on the current timetable but I think it was similar in April. The winter 05/06 sunshine routes were very grim but so too were ZB's from BHX but all have seemed to have recovered. OltonPete |
I can't say who i am but i have alot of info on Flybe Lets wait and see for the winter schedule release. I'm sure there will be some expansion from established bases, after all they will have taken a fair number of extra Q400's this year so they must have to go somewhere. |

"Nighthawk,Nighthawk, calling Nighthawk!!" "Listen I shall say zis only vonce!! Don't tell me, let me guess. You're really Jim French! Right?!! |
First one goes to BHX, second to EXT and third to SOU.

Load Factors
MarkusNWI
Not disclosing load factors on Norwich routes is a bit pointless. The CAA stats are published every month, the provisional ones around 10-20 days after the month end and the actual a couple months later. As Norwich have few scheduled routes (if any) operated by different airlines it is not too difficult to work out once you know where to look. Others will also concur that load factors are of little use anyway for those outside the airline itself as it is all down to yield yield yield yield! As the figures proved, last summer flybe's BHX Spanish services were often running at 80-90% full but it did not stop them moving one aircraft to Norwich. Whether this was due to poor yield or Norwich airport simply made a better offer I am not privy to. Maybe you could ask for me? ;) OltonPete |
Okay thanks OltenPete, also about the delays over the last month here in Norwich the Dash has gone tech twice and also the 737 was running and 1hr late but that is it. So far Flybe seem to have been quite good and on time here in NWI, iv'e flown with them 6 times and everytime they where early!!

4TH EMBRAER
I am lead to believe that the 4th EMB may be for Jersey???
There is also a possibility that Jersey may receive a second Dash based, so this could mean some new schedules appearing out of Jersey this information came from a good source so we will have to see what developes,:ok: :ok: |
I am lead to believe that the 4th EMB may be for Jersey??? Whilst I expect JER is on the list to get one to replace its 146, it would be a nightmare if it suffered technical problems given the location, so you may just have to wait a bit longer.:) |
