FlyBe Summer Schedule 2006
Can anyone advise what is going on at Flybe...
Checked the schedule for Summer 2006 (flights out of EDI) and to be honest, cannot find any! Seems strange as all other carriers are at least showing some sort of flight schedule... Have heard all sorts of rumours regarding them being up for sale, being merged with British Airways CitiExpress, or just closing down altogether (the latter does seem hard to beleive). I know they have had a few bad weeks with up to 4 aircraft in one morning at EDI going tech. Have also heard the Embraer order is on hold... |
tristar500,
I'm not sure where this info is coming from but I wouldn't trust its source. Flybe's full schedules for Summer 2006 have not been released yet but it is likely that they'll be on sale within the next couple of weeks. In late September, Flybe placed the majority of what it had confirmed for Summer 2006, on sale. This included the sun routes ex SOU/EXT/NWI and BHX and also routes in and out of JER/GCI. I have heard nothing about the EMB195's being delayed, although I would expect that any delay to the introduction of this type would not be driven by Flybe. All airlines have their good and their bad days, Flybe has its fair share resulting from tech problems. If you check their website however, the last weeks punctuality is recorded at 90% arriving within 15mins. Not bad really and the best in some time! |
easyJet, and Ryanair have yet to release thier summer 06, but rumour has it, the orange mob will start to do it this, or next week?
|
According to 'BirdSeed Airways' DCS computer system, easyjets 2006 summer schedule is listed along with all other carriers - worldwide - (however changeable the times/routes may be)... Just nothing at all on Flybe from EDI...

Since they have just announced the new Manchester operation with 6 more routes to be confirmed don`t worry

Schedules for most major UK airports can not be finalised until after the bi-annual IATA Scheduling Conference to be held later this month.
Until that time, airlines operating into coordinated airport - the main UK airfields - will not be able to confirm the slots that they have been allocated. Hence the fact that most airlines will not publish Summer timetables until the beginning of December. |
tristar500 they may be listed, but are they bookable?
Just look at the thomsonflyflights web sites to see the mess an early release to SALE can have. Compare flights from thomsonfly to thomsonflights from the same airport! At this stage of the game, brinkmanship occurs. Traditionally, lo-co's wait until Dec/Jan to release flight for sale, to do so earlier reveals ones 'cards'! |

...is that 6 more routes Ex UK or 6 more Ex Manchester ..? |
Manchester to Belfast, Exeter, Guernsey, Jersey, Southampton and Newark (Continental Codeshare)
|
There are 6 more routes TBA ex MAN. The announcement should be in January. 4 Domestic and 2 European.

Hi to all,
Does anybody know if BE will go on flying out of BHX into the sun destinations (MJV, AGP, FAO..). I believe they have only 3 B737 leased from AEU and with the addition of NWI services, will they be able to offer a BHX schedule for summer06 as well? Regards |

HYD Problems with FlyBe Q400
What is going on with the Q400. Today was the second time since friday night that a FlyBe Q400 came into EDI with HYD problems. The first late fri night had to manually lower the gear and get a tow off the runway as it also lost steering, not sure about the one this morning.
Was it the same Aircraft or a problem with Flybe Q400's? M |
I asked the same question recently on another thread.....guess what .....the thread starter removed it.Seems they like to moan about Flybe but when there are questions asked about the equipment they dissappear good luck with getting an answer! I have seen 3 returns to BHD and BFS in almost as many weeks....as an ATCO I would love to know what the deal with these aircraft is.

had a similar incident on a flight out of Exeter to Dublin weekend before last, main gear doors started doing their own thing about 15 minutes out, and with other aspects of the way we returned to Exeter, the prime suspect was hydraulic fault of some sort, but getting a reply on what's going on has proved to be very hard.
It's clear that the Dash 8 has some issues at the moment, I've seen too many threads in here recently about returns, or shut downs or diversions, and I don't think it's a maintenance issue, but exactly what is happening is shrouded in mystery at the moment. |
Looks like Eastern need to watch out. Flybe are adding frequencies that woud be suitable for a day return for business passengers
