Bae 146 G-JEBG
This 146 was roled out a Norwich and delivered to Birmingham on the 5th of June in a new corporate identity of a Gibralter casino colours.
The aircraft looks like a flying tomato and you will be able to see it from a long way off:ok: :ok: Is Flybe going to try and get companie logos on aircraft that are comming up for respray?? I might be wrong but i think G-JEBG never had the full Flybe markings. So if they are going to follow other companies it would be for new aircraft or ones for respray.:ok: :ok: |
At present, there are no plans to spray new aircraft in any other livery other than flybe. Any other aircraft requiring respray i.e. BAe146, will be into the colour scheme required by the handback terms and therefore, white.

There's certainly a gap in the market for Hannover in the greater SouthWest.
Whereas various airlines fly from Bristol to Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich there is no service to Hannover. Slightly surprising because Hannover is one of Bristol's twin cities and has been since just after the end of WW II, and there is still a lot of interaction between the cities socially and in commerce/business. Those to the east and perhaps south of Bristol might find SOU reasonably accessible but EXT would be easier to reach. |
I believe SOU have been looking for German routes for some time and have discussed it with a variety of carriers. The fact flybe have now announced it is entirely unsurprising given how established they are there now.

SOU-AMS
Flybe have confirmed a twice daily service between SOU and AMS from 11th September. Not entirely suprising, but they face huge competition from bmi and Scot Airways, both with multiple daily frequencies.

To have 3 operators using up parking space and runway time to operate on the same route does not seem to be a very clever use of SOU's limited space.
Can't see that it will be 3 operators for very long though? I guess the Q400 carries about as many pax per trip as the 328 and 135/145 put together, so this seems a bold move by Flybe - pricing alone may not win the day with the business pax. |
More AMS routes to come
From the press release: The announcement is of high strategic importance to Flybe as it moves into the Amsterdam market, and the airline will make further announcements of new routes to Amsterdam from other UK bases in the coming weeks. |
EXT-AMS will be a certain, has been rumoured in local press for quite some time!

FLYBE: SOU- AMS
Flybe will make announcement about adding a third SOU-AMS within the next two weeks. That should kill off at least one of the other two carriers.
I would guess that EXT-AMS will be announced next week. |

flybe have certainly mentioned their desire to operate NWI/AMS but would they be able to get interline facilities at AMS and would the Q400 have the luggage capacity to cope with the many passengers who do interline on this route?
KLM currently operate 4 return services a day with the F70/F100 which meets the demand for both passenger and luggage space, at a reasonably competitive price. Without onward interline facilities at AMS Flybe, it has been said by people who have knowledge of such things, would only appeal to around 40% of the current market. |

The third rotation was not announced because the airport where the current capacity flies too,had not yet been told of its cancellation. Apparently this will happen this week. Apparently a good first day of sales with over 1750 sold in first 12 hours.
NWI-AMS if launched will be aimed at the P2P traffic which is about 40% of the route. |
I hope EXT - AMS is announced soon. I reckon it will be more popular than the CDG route and have much higher non UK passenger loads, especially with the popularity of Devon and Cornwall in the Netherlands. I know VisitBritain in Amsterdam will be delighted if/when it's announced. Will it be once daily or twice daily?

I know this sounds really stupid/noobish but:
Why has Glasgow (GLA) been changed to Glasgow International (GLA) in the booking systems etc on flybe? Is there any significance?:E Like People mistaking PIK for GLA etc? Or is it me picking out pointless little thigns again?:p :O I hope EXT - AMS is announced soon. The word is that Flybe are very pleased with the majority of routes from NWI, although I am told that Murcia (a stones throw from Alicante which they do 4 times a week) and Bordeux will be dropped from the Winter programme.
Other than that, it appears all is well on the NWI routes. |
I guess there is less demand for Bordeaux in the winter anyway?
