E-190 and E195 differ ?

You might find that Flybe started charging for hold baggage at the start of February, and it is in fact Ryanair who are following in late March.

Also, Flybe charge less that Ryanair and you are allowed to carry more weight!!

Only news I've heard on the E195 is a delay to deliveries of approx 2 months, due to changes need following JetBlues entry into service of the E190, which as with any new aircraft type has thrown up a few glitches that need fixing, hence causing a slight delay to the delivery rate by Embraer.

Well the company needs the Aircraft sooner rather than later. 7 tech Aircraft today. 2 control problems yesterday resulting in the whole of the 146 fleet being grounded. Numerous smoke related incidents and court claims galore! No wonder they don't paint their aircraft in Flybe colours. It sounds to me the company are in a mess yet again. As for the pay offer, I can tell you it's 2.2% across the board and no more.

If I was cynical I might take your minor rant as to recent events at Flybe as a dig towards the pay offer you have mentioned. 2.2% - wouldn't that be a pay offer in line with inflation, reasonable given the increased fuel hikes in the past year?

Which has to be a good thing - I'm hearing of complex on-board computer issues that will just need time to solve (like the so-called CTRL-ALT-DELETE 'restart' I've experienced on at least one AC E175) as well as complaints about the lack of space in overhead bins. In FlyBe's sticking with their new luggage policy they're going to have to get that one right ...

2.2% is the RPI not the current inflation rate, so yes the offer is totally unacceptable. All I was highlighting was that the company needs the new aircraft ASAP. The salary information has come from HQ and advertises the fact that the management in Sleepy Hollow have their heads firmly stuck in the sand.

I see you need more Pilots while reducing salary's. Why not look after the ones you have got and then you wouldn't loose them to Ryanair and the likes.

With the introduction of the new E-195 it is likely that they will have AOG situations.

As a regular passenger on the SOU-EDI route I can relate to these comments. More and more my wife and I are opting for BA as we are sick and tired of delays caused by tech aircraft. The last time we tried to claim under the EU regs they used the "safety issue" cop out.:mad: :mad: :mad:

Our flight was delayed more than 4 hours which meant we would not be able to collect our hire car at EDI as it closed at 23:00. They switched us to GLA and we were able to switch our car booking to GLA but were hit with £25 in extra charges. I did not think it too unreasonable for flybe to pick up the charge but they refused.

For the sake of £25 they have lost our business which over a year is a reasonable sum of money.

The annoying thing is I enjoy flying with them. Good crew and comfortable aircraft.:sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:

~CTRL probs due to brand of type II de-icing fluid aviance have been using, all de-icing reverting to KilFrost brand with immediate effect.

~Tech probs.. what do you expect from a fleet made up of two-decade-old jets and a relatively brand new a/c type?

~The leases have run out on 2 of the 146 a/c so if anything the new jets will be needed sooner.

~6 a/c they can't crew this summer because they are short-crewed... loyalty works both ways. It is expected of you but never shown in return. Seems it works the same way when it comes to their passengers...

IMHO, the 737 leases were sending BE in the wrong direction in a crowded market.

By operating smaller a/c's, BE keep their niche. Are costs/seat/mile really lower for the E195, compared to the A319? I'd expect a slightly greater fuel burn on account of size, and isn't the config going to be 4 abreast, so more air being moved around in the corridors? BUT this can be counterbalanced presumably by lower airport charges from regional bases and also being able to extract higher yields through having to fend off fewer competitors.

Looking a bit further down the line, Flybe must have one of the quietest fleets around, which will become more important as noise based charging becomes more apparent. And aren't our Brazilian friends making some pretty good advances in the field of alternative fuels?

The SOU-JER flights have been combined was this another tech aircraft?

We see they have had Delt India based in Jersey for at least a week now and has this aircraft just come out of major maintence??

GLA+EDI to EXT evening flight has been combined and is about 2-3 hours late. Most grumpy as my dad is supposed to be coming down on that one.:{
