Yes, they do only have 3 routes, have heard mention that they have approached dundee about starting up a new route from airport ?

shedrule 4th December 2006 11:30

Any clues as to where Bill?

Must say, its dragging on so much with regards to HIAL's proposed takeover, new routes etc etc its getting quite boring.

baggagebill 4th December 2006 13:58

Not heard anything about what routes scot airways are looking at, just heard that they had approached airport and enquired about where it would be feasible to start up new route to.

As for the HIAL saga, yes it is getting very boring and dragging along, latest i heard is june next year ?

baggagebill 12th February 2007 21:31

Hot of the Press,

Dundee Airport being transferred to HIAL !!

From september, more info tommorow

niknak 12th February 2007 22:39

Yet another feather in the HIAL cap which they will no doubt under resource and run with spectacular ineptitude....

shedrule 13th February 2007 07:56

Just as Bill said:

:D

Dundee Airport

Just a thought: Should HIAL then have to change their name if taking on
an Airport in the lowlands?

Cityjet

Good news for Dundee, with the recent announcement of the Air France by Cityjet operating from LCY. Not sure what the frequencies are but good news nevertheless.

airhumberside 15th February 2007 17:13

I think its just AF codesharing on LCY-DND

EGCJFlyer 15th February 2007 17:23

Not codesharing as far as I'm aware of Cityjet ops. All flights have an Air France code only. Good news about that is that I can keep topping up my Flying Blue Platinum card on routes to Dundee now!!

In anycase, from Dundee, there's now connections with Cityjet (Air France) to many more locations as well as with KLM, to Rotterdam and Amsterdam! Bit better offer than Scot Airways and at least a business product on offer now (very good service in my opinion compared to Air France out of CDG).

baggagebill 26th April 2007 07:19

Something in the post ?

Been hearing rumours of some new routes in the pipeline. Heard Belfast and Birmingham mentioned, with an ATR42, don't know the operator, possibly a polish owned airline ? I thought of eurolot as they operate atr42's but nothing on their website etc.

OltonPete 26th April 2007 09:56

Dundee - BHX

Baggagebill

I have heard nothing concrete at the BHX end, it is one destination which
is regularly mooted but nothing of real substance.

A good route for the new Birmingham European possibly but there is still
no firm start date for the airline. They seem determined not to do a
"flywho" with erroneous start dates and who can blame them.

New Routes

Just heard a snippet about Flywhoosh (White eagle aviation) of poland, due to start operating from Dundee end May early June.

Couple of flights a day to Birmingham and One to Belfast city, meant to be a press announcement shortly.

shedrule 26th April 2007 14:20

http://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/ou...9620617t0.shtm

Congratulations Bill, beat the Tele to the story anyway. :D

Good news for Dundee though, certainly the students and families will see the Belfast route well supported, with two rotations they are obviously confident about Birmingham as well so well done DCC / HIAL.

Yak97 26th April 2007 15:05

April 1st?

OK call it sour grapes but......
UK Commercial Director Aden Murcutt, and flywhoosh.
Erm didn't I recall a certain Company with a Aden Murcott, chief executive of Flywho low cost airline?
An amazing coincidence?
PS. And if you are starting in a month, how about a working website?

More:

the flywhoosh website is registered to Go Visit Ltd (05197726) which is a dormant Company. Yet on Wicko is posted: "Flywho NEVER had an ATOL because all seats were sold through Go Visit Ltd, which means flywho never needed to have an atol." Beware possibly more pie in the sky?

Richard Taylor 26th April 2007 15:28

OK, it's sour grapes! ;)

Good for Dundee, lets hope routes are a success.

captainyonder 26th April 2007 18:03

It seems highly unprofessional for the airline not to have a working web site upon launching. Good luck to them, but it doesn't look good!

USER0005 26th April 2007 18:29

Aden Murcutt??!!

Sorry to say that you've got to be pretty optimistic to imagine that an "airline" (Whoosh doesn't have an AOC - they are apparently using White Eagle of Poland) involving this joker is going to be successful.

What amazes me is that Dundee should be come associated with this individual, and even more, that Birmingham to be stupid enough to be promoting yet another of his enterprises.

How long before the next appearance on Watchdog??

baggageben 26th April 2007 20:00

dundee airport

just heard that whoosh are thinking about using the atr 42 -300. anyone confirm this?

Jes 26th April 2007 20:44

Shedrule's link told us that.
