The Woosh ATR had arrived earlier in the day from Norwich - it had spent precisely 12 hours in Sprayavia's painting complex at Norwich - went in white, came out the same, not sure if they couldn't afford a more complex colour scheme or that was it..

Flywhoosh

Did the Flywhoosh arrive at BHX today does anyone know?

shedrule 29th May 2007 11:51

flywhoosh has actually taken off then (despite the cynics;) ) :D
Fingers crossed for them. Credit where credit is due, they have delivered what they have promised so far to the best of my knowledge anyway.

Edit: An article of the launch days happenings from a local Dundee paper.

Choosing Dundee as there base is a bold and interesting move, hope they are successful.

Would like to see them fly from Plymouth in the future! :p

Graeme2812 4th June 2007 19:49

The Dornier Jet that was there is operated by Club Airways. A corporate hire aircraft I think.

baggagebill 5th June 2007 14:35

You should see it today, ATR 42, D328 & Global Express all on stand

shedrule 5th June 2007 16:15

Wait until the Open is on at Carnoustie, wont be any space left to swing a Cessna:)

chrism20 5th June 2007 22:36

Hows the new routes looking?

Anyone had a trip yet?

baggagebill 8th June 2007 10:37

Spoke to one of the ATCO's, numbers on flywhoosh not bad for first week, 2-20. Only time will tell i suppose. Also said bookings are coming in for open golf already, 2 globals and a variety already, think the swinging of a c152 will have to be cancelled due to lack of room !!!

The Whoosh aircraft is registered SP-KCN. Pictured here on its first revenue flight DND-BHD:

Any news on how the new routes are doing?

I'm back up in Dundee now, my new house overlooks traffic in/outbound to DND, which I didn't realise when we were viewing it.

baggagebill 3rd July 2007 15:09

Birmingham numbers have been not too bad (or good) whichever way you look at them. Averaging 20-30 pax which for a route in its first month is good i would say. Did hear that belfast had been a bit of a struggle at times but was also picking up.

Rumours of a new route in the pipeline from whoosh !!

shedrule 3rd July 2007 15:14

Read into this what you want to but I flew on the afternoon flight to BHX on Thursday and counted 22, saw the BHD flight arriving and there only seemed about 10-15 getting off.

Any rumours as to where Bill? Would that be operated by the current aircraft or would it necesitate bringing in another one, as they mentioned at the launch of their current routes?

i know 3rd July 2007 23:12

the new rote is newquay

baggagebill 4th July 2007 08:19

Newquay ? Thats a strange one ? Care to elaborate on when it is due to start ? Are they bringing in another a/c for it ? etc etc

the_fish@blueyonder. 4th July 2007 10:05

DND-Newquay might be a good move. There's a hell of a lot of students up here, Newquay is a student hotspot in summer too (never been myself though).

wingman863 4th July 2007 11:02

Umm, seems odd. Theres LOADS of students from NI but not that many from the south of england.

chrism20 4th July 2007 16:49

I would have thought DUB would have been a potential route

Flightrider 4th July 2007 20:12

Dundee-Birmingham-Newquay perhaps?
