By contrast yesterday's SEN to Malta FR flight was full. Strange considering Malta has been added to the quarantine list.

Yep, my mistake. Misreading a post on another site. Schoolboy error.......message now deleted. Apologies.

For some curious reason you cannot book on any route from SEN at all and can only book AMS/BFS/EDI/GLA from STN. Has someone messed up and removed everything from sale even though flights are still operating for another couple of weeks? They won’t even let you book one way flights leaving today, which suggests the reason isn’t a sudden premature closure tomorrow.
|
They took a lot of stick for allowing flights to be booked for next summer etc after the closures were announced so obviously gone the other way....

Flew easyJet yesterday 18/08/20 Naples to Malta paid EUR86 one way. There were less than 30 pax (2 speedy boarding).
Dublin to Naples on FR on 14/08/2020 had 122 pax. Its a very difficult time for airlines. For passengers its constant flight cancellations so who'd want to book in such uncertain times? |
That's a helpful insight. This is the summer season, so it certainly shows there are hard times ahead.

I've just received vouchers for my latest pair of cancelled non-op EasyJet flights. But they're different from previous ones. Apparently, they cannot be used online and the customer is required to dial a phone number to book. Not great. I'd have taken the refund alternative if I'd known about this.
What is the thinking? Force customers to use some premium rate phone line which won't be answered for an hour? I do hope not. I'm fed up of phoning airlines for services which should be available to action online. We're in 2020, not 1970. If they cancel any more on me I'll be going for the refund option if rebooking involves joining some mandatory time-consuming phone-queue. The £5 voucher bonus isn't worth the hassle of a frustrating phone-queue to make a simple booking which should be actionable online in the normal way. |

Also posted on the BFS page.
We tried getting some colleagues over from NI to us here in MAN for a site visit but we literally couldn't make it work with the ridiculous flight days and times that EZY are offering on the BFS-MAN route. After wasting our time for probably 2 hours we had to concede defeat. Added to that the comment that one person made along the lines of 'what happens if they cancel the flight?' and then add in the sheer bloody agro of getting your money back. They have lost 5 return fares. EZY (and other airlines tbf) are totally undermining the required customer confidence that the airline industry needs if a recovery is going to be possible. |
Worth looking at LPL BFS, FFMAN. EZY do appear to be ramping that route up a little.
|
Thanks eye2eye5, we did consider it but agreed that the pfaff of getting them over here and back would make a complex situation worse. Undoubtedly a good number of the LPL passengers are actually trying to get to MAN instead.
We decided to defer the visit and make another attempt when the BHD-MAN service resumes (EI ??) as BHD works better for most of them anyway. Was just saying it was a lost opportunity for EZY as the current schedule is totally business unfriendly. |
As long as you remember to pay the bridge toll, it's not a difficult journey but having forgotten to pay it a couple of times, I do feel that the bridge operator relies on penalty fees!
|
FFMAN. - You're not the first that I have heard from people having difficulty getting reasonable flight schedules between MAN-BFS. Seems odd when so many aircraft and crews doing nothing, yet demand is not being fulfilled.

new route MAN-IOM commencing end of October

An emotional farewell from Southend ATC to the final EZY flight landing at SEN. It gives some idea of the high esteem in which the easyJet crews were held by the SEN community, and it's clearly reciprocated by the EZY crew. |
Worldwide by Easyjet.
Any ideas what the situation is when you have booked a connection worldwide by easyJet (DoHop) and one leg is cancelled? My first flight is cancelled, but the 2nd leg isn't. (Both easyJet flights) Ideally, I'd prefer a cash refund for both flights. Also, the cancelled flight notification says I can get a cash refund using manage my bookings- yet that option is not shown on line, so not possible. Does not inspire confidence to use this service again. |
