What complicates things now is pre EU it was mostly State carrier in each country. Now you have airlines operating across Europe and this is where the problem lies.

Personally I can't see much divergence from open skies (or anything) for that matter once we leave.

Would you really like to go back to an early 70s model of air travel? Surely we can agree that the EU single market and the open skies arrangements for aviation have been good for the UK customer? Both in value for money and variety of routes. In that sense because of the EU we have benefited massively.Don't forget how much LCC traffic depends on an SMEs trading in Europe as well as freedom of movement as people visit friends and family. Something to think about before we turn our back on our biggest trading partner.

Advice Please

New here so please be kind and hopefully this is the right place to ask. I'm looking to fly to Lanzarote in Nov but need to return on Dec 1st it's a Saturday. Living in Jersey obviously I need to go via Gatwick and those flights are on sale Via BA and currently are nice and cheap and I would like to book. If I remember rightly from last year during winter months the flights from Lanzarote to LGW were not always daily. I would like to book my Jer-LGW return flights but am worried that when the EasyJet flights to Lanzarote go on sale they may not operate on Saturdays. The best EasyJet can tell me is that they will be online in April !! By then the Jer-lgw will be very expensive. Does anyone know from past experience if they operate on Saturdays.

LGWAlan 15th Feb 2018 13:35

The Saturday ACE-LGW does not land back into LGW until 2310. There won't be a LGW-JER that late. Overnight at LGW and book yourself LGW-JER on the first BA the Sunday morning which is on sale and wide open.

Why are you so keen to book with BA now?

When LGW-ACE goes on sale, in April, so will easyJet LGW-JER, and if you get on release, they will be dirt cheap too.

In fact, if you do the whole thing on a single booking, you'll save a few quid on the booking fee element. Problem solved

Not sure whether this should be here or on the SLF thread.
Was due to fly easyjet yesterday evening Luton to the S of France.
Flight cancelled, reasons unclear.
Nobody, but nobody, in charge of telling over a hundred pax what to do.
Essentially the message was ‘You are on your own, sort out your own hotels, transport and book your own flights with us or some other airline and we’ll argue reimbursement later’ - unfortunately no-one was available or able to communicate that simple message until each of us had reached the head of a huge queue.
Surely staff must be trained on how to collectively address a large number of pax on what their possible options are?

Easyjet is a lowcost airline, i.e you get what you pay for, so when things go wrong, there are simply no staff to deal with it.

I suppose the white stuff on the ground and the endless news reports and advisories of bad weather went in noticed then.

The information was out there from early on, depends on those choosing to ignore it though or be spoon fed individual info.

Actually No, the weather at Luton wasn’t bad at all and if you’d had the opportunity to look at the departures and arrivals, as I did, there was little or no delay on other flights. Also the easyjet app was sadly lacking in info.
That’s why a substantial number of pax, all with internet access were surprised.
I’m not moaning about the cancellation just the way it was handled.

ESQU 2nd Mar 2018 19:15

Some of the airports in the South of France have been closed or had restrictions due to snow, lack of parking spaces and limited de-icing equipment.

I looked at a flight in question that had been cancelled to NCE... there was an explanation...

It was something along the lines off due to Snow in Europe your aircraft had been held up in another airport...

I think that pretty much says what happened does it not?

Whereabouts and when ?
I couldn’t find it (OK I looked in the wrong places perhaps) but the easyjet staff didn’t know either.
As I said earlier, I’m not whinging about the cancellation, just the lack of info.

Just arrived in Nice.
The EZY Captain on today’s flight said there’d been de-icer problems in Nice in the last few days, and also the flight yesterday from Luton was cancelled.
Sounds like stuff beyond EZY’s control.
I’m insured so (hopefully) not a problem- otherwise I’m wasting money on Travel Insurance

Just opened the Crémant !

Lee J 3rd Mar 2018 21:29

Just out of interest, does anyone know why EZY8902 - the return leg of LGW-GIB (diverted to Malaga) was cancelled today due to "mass disruption on the network". Yet the plane flew back to Gatwick empty despite the majority of passengers being in mid-transit from GIB to AGP.

La Palma

Does anybody on this forum know if Easyjet will be resuming its winter flights to La Palma?

inOban 6th Mar 2018 07:16

February traffic up 4%, load factor up 1%, not including Tegel. 'In line with expectations.'

apaul 7th Mar 2018 02:19

Gatwick to La Palma resumes twice per week on 18 September. Presumably it will also runs in the winter.

Thanks for the feedback, I noticed the break for the summer but it stops again in October. Are Easyjet due to release another tranche of winter flights soon?

Flight schedule release dates | easyJet

Yes - in a word - mid April

Seljuk22 27th Mar 2018 16:32

5 more routes from TXL this summer:
eff 21.04. TXL-Prague 3/7
eff 05.05. TXL-Alghero 2/7
eff 06.05. TXL-Olbia 1/7, eff 07.06. 2/7
eff 03.06. TXL-Bari 1/7, eff 01.08. 3/7
eff 01.09. TXL-Aarhus 2/7

easyJet also start flying from Tegel to London Gatwick, Edinburgh, and Paris Orly by moving some flights over from Schönefeld
https://mediacentre.easyjet.com/en/s...er-from-berlin

In total 28 routes and 6 million passengers for this year.

Berlin as well as Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Inverness, Paris (CDG & ORY) and Venice will join "Worldwide"

March traffic up 3.4%, much less than Ryanair's 6%. I suspect that this reflects Easyjet's greater dependence on the UK, whose economy is growing more slowly than the rest of Europe.

I suspect that this reflects Easyjet's greater dependence on the UK, whose economy is growing more slowly than the rest of Europe.
A headline higher growth rate has no direct correlation with disposable income and a higher propensity to fly, let alone yield. #projectfear
Always remember easyJet is mature in their UK market presence, there are no untouched sweet spots that EZY have not already had a crack at in the UK market in the last 23 years of operations.

Seljuk22 6th Apr 2018 16:21

Please also read the words below the number e.g.

*The passenger statistics above do not include Tegel operations.
There were 1,274 cancellations in March 2018 - equivalent to 3% of planned capacity and up on the 575 experienced in March 2017. Over 1000 were caused by adverse weather conditions across Europe and a further 200 due to French and Italian industrial action.
Aprox. 15 based TXL aircraft (equals 5% of whole capacity) not included in the figures + flight cancellation (based on EZY equal 3% of capacity)

RNS tonight:

"easyJet has today submitted a revised expression of interest for a restructured Alitalia, together as part of a consortium, consistent with easyJet's existing strategy for Italy.

Given the nature of the process, the content of the expression of interest is subject to confidentiality.

There is no certainty at this stage that any transaction will proceed and easyJet will provide a further update in due course if and when appropriate."

Easyjet W18

Does anyone have any news on the Easyjet winter 18 schedule released today? Becuase I cant find it.

LAX_LHR 12th Apr 2018 10:49

Up to Feb 3rd has been released. However, I doubt it’s the final schedule as they seem to be a bit ‘messy’.

Cpt. Sunshine 19th Apr 2018 10:44

Does anyone know how long the leased aircraft will be operating easyJet flights out of TXL?

Looking to book a MUC flight around the end of May/early June and wondering if I'll catch the Condor B753 or the WDL BAe 146.

KNT544 19th Apr 2018 11:44

The last day in May flights are done by Smartlynx, easyJet Europe and Titan.

Thank you-- is there any way to tell before booking which airline will be operating which flight?

Legally you have to be told at the booking stage which airline will be operating the flight. Try a dummy booking.

Wonder of thats the end of any W18/19 timetable announcements or are there any more changes/announcements to come?
Doesnt seem like Brexit really having huge impact...as yet

DC3 Dave 28th Apr 2018 21:26

Do you remember the millennium time bomb? You know, when 1999 turned into the year 2000? Any aircraft in the sky at the time would fall out the sky and much of the civilised world would come to a halt? Bit like Brexit really. Good on EZY if they are getting on with their business.

One was a clock ticking over midnight the other has deep political and social ramifications, so not really the same.

inOban 28th Apr 2018 22:41

And the millennium time bomb was averted by a great deal of very hard work by some very clever people.

toledoashley 29th Apr 2018 07:33

EastJet usually release a basic schedule, and then have a 'big bang' route announcement later in the summer. I think it was early July last year.

VickersVicount 2nd May 2018 07:06

This mornings Scotsman suggesting a little movement with EZY at GLA. Sounds a bit something-and-nothing though with 'new routes' probably replacing existing capacity reductions and expansion 'in 2 years' not really worth any fuss at this stage. So no big bang expansion which is disappointing.
