I could be wrong but I believe Blue Handling might be linked to ABM - part of the same stable as Omniserv and BlackJack.

Norwegian

I'm sure it's just some kind of mistake but I went onto the STN official website to see if they had updated the list of airlines operating from STN, as they are normally quite slow to update the generally woeful website and I couldn't help but notice the only airline they've added since they added Emirates is Norwegian?

No Norwegian charters even operate into STN and they haven't operated from the airport in years. Seems a bit odd?

I suspect someone up in MAG has perhaps got Norwegian confused with Wideroe, who had their inaugural earlier this evening.

Very latest CGI images for the new Arrivals Terminal appears to show a different totally glass enclosed frontage to the structure & differing from the original open air design out front with all those steps!.

No doubt this is the final plan as planning permission has been approved & work is due to commence shortly I believe.

£600m spend for STN over 5 years.

Where can we see this latest image?

The latest image is with the current press releases regarding stats for July...

Arkia

Arkia (IZ) look to be operating their STN to TLV at 2x or 3x weekly throughout the winter season, and would appear to be one of their own new A321neo's.

Previously they've only operated summer only as a regular service using a B738 from Travel Service (QS) of the Czech Republic.

southside bobby 21st Aug 2018 06:48

With EZY commencing TLV in November (already said to be year round) & the v encouraging IZ winter programme mentioned above it is good to see the Israel market becoming established once again at STN.

Although possibly more leisure orientated these services should help restore STN to it`s position of being a natural home for the Israel market.

LGS6753 21st Aug 2018 06:51

I can't help thinking there is too much capacity on LON-TLV, what with BA & LY from LHR, WZZ, LY and EZY from LTN and now IZ & EZY from STN.

pamann 21st Aug 2018 09:30

Tel Aviv

To be honest it’s only an additional 4 flights per week and with the Jewish community well positioned to the north of the capital, STN & LTN would be the first choice over LHR & LGW for ease of travel.

Lets also not forget that Tel Aviv itself is proving to be a popular city break destination and has a pretty good climate during the winter months too.

So.....Swissport to break from ryanair to concentrate on their other contracts. But what happens when Dnata come in and take Emirates away from them, surely THAT is their main money spinner?

Swissport have being handling all other airlines apart from EasyJet (Stobarts) British Airways, BMI and Loganair (Menzies) for a long time before Emirates began. I think Swissport mainline will be okay at Stansted if DNATA do come in.
Also no official statement has been made to the public about Swissport and Ryanair currently. Even internal statements have not mentioned what is exactly going to be happening.

I’m pretty certain that BMI and Loganair are both Swissport. Menzies aren’t at Stansted now that easyJet are handled by Stobart. They pretty much have the monopoly at present with the exception of Jet2/Easy/BA. Dnata is one to watch here as the EK operation grows.

Swissport are taking over the BA contract in the autumn.

Yes Menzies have still got a small presence at Stansted. This will end once current contracts run out. Like _aax1 said BA’s will end in the Autumn.
Loganair and BMI May have changed over in the past few weeks, as I have not been in much and my not have noticed.

So are Dnata coming to STN and to handle Ryanair?? When does this take effect?

No one mentioned Dnata handling FR. That won’t happen in a million years.

The reason Dnata are one to watch is connected to any (rumoured EK) expansion as and when it happens.

Eurowings to terminate STN-VIE on the 28th October. The same day Laudamotion/FR Austria launch their 13 weekly service.

daz211 22nd Aug 2018 15:23

Heard a rumour Primera are expected to bring the B739max to Stansted in November, not sure how many, could we expect some more Transatlantic destinations on the departure boards.

Correct and BA are handled by Gatwick Ground Services.
