Who (apart from Putin's spies !) is going to be using the Stansted-Kaliningrad route ? The old 72-hour visa for UK/Schengen citizens allowing short visits to just the Kaliningrad enclave in return for the paperwork being much less painful was abolished in Jan 2017 - and Brits wanting to visit Russia are likely to be far more interested in Moscow St Petersburg; it tends to be Germans who want to visit Kaliningrad
Kaliningrad as a region is not doing well in economic terms - and its citizens to not have residency / working rights in the UK Yes, I know KD Avia used to have a hub in Kaliningrad with a route to London, but they went bust in 2009 So who's going to eb buying tickets ? |

Anyone have any info as to when this goes on sale? I’ve looked the last couple of days, it seems to be loaded as a route on their system with days greyed out when it doesn’t operate, but no flights showing. |
Ryanair cancelling hordes of flights again today at Stansted. Blaming ATC shortages and everyone apart from themselves.
I sense they cancel at the first sign of trouble or is it me? Such a big Airline should have back up crews imho at such a large base or even god forbid trying to sub charter a few flights might help their image. |
Flights by the other airlines seem to be operating normally granted with some delays. Ryanair must be using a different ATC system to everybody else!

The problem I guess is that a lot of FRs do three or even four trips per day, therefore delays mount storing even more problems later on. It’s notable most of the first wave departed eventually and cancellations sat in the second/third wave. Probably crew hours also have an impact. Their size also means they’re disproportionately impacted. Also a fair few of their flights head north and east which is where further trouble was in store. Southbound were less affected. Its fair to say they weren’t alone with problems, the earlier Jet2 departures had delays between one and five hours, Thomas Cook almost three hours, TUI 90 mins, Eurowings two hours. What doesn’t help but makes a nice story for papers is people insisting on queueing to re-book. They would be far better off doing it themselves on their phones, heading home or heading somewhere else. |

So.... I’m interested. Mostly because my Mrs spent the best part of an hour waiting for bags/pram on last domestic flight into EGSS... ...wtf is going on? Shear volume/low cost? There are other options for quicker repatriation of baggage. Time is important vs cost so it has had the Mrs reconsider... |
We waited recently for our bags off a Ryanair domestic flight for over an hour. Lack of baggage handlers I believe. This was at 9.00am.

I wonder who owned the brains, or lack of them, behind the requirement for domestic arrivals to have to exit the airport and walk almost the full length of the terminal, outside, when connecting to another flight or taking the train. That is the sort of intelligence that should lead to instant dismissal.

Swissport who handed Ryanair flights ramp teams are allocated flights for their shifts. So as soon as one flight is delayed the next one will be as well theoretically. And you just get a knock-on effect. I know MAG and Ryanair have had top level meeting with Swissport recently try and find a solution. But unfortunately at his time their has been no changes. It’s a shame as the airport is getting so many complaints and negative press. |

You flew RYR and I suspect looked for cheapest deal. As we ALL would. That trickles down the food chain in terms of Labour rates and seasonal work. The problem is STN is in the middle of nowhere. I moved here and am aware of cost of commute. Passengers are coming from/ to London, they will pay premium fares etc but if you work here its a different story. How can an employee be expected to pay daily rates to commute from outskirts of London. Wage rates in the industry are lamentable ! There are simply no large cities within easy commute with sufficient size workforce to fill these jobs. |
No I didn't look for the cheapest deal. They offered the most suitable time of flight. Trouble with Ezy is that their times can be very hit and miss with huge gaps in the middle of the day.
