Jet2's latest brand new B737-800, G-JZHV, is on it's way to the UK.
Don't know if it's heading for Leeds or Manchester......but given the weather forcast...could be Manchester. |

Most likely go to MAN as by the time it arrives LBA will be closed, the upgrading the runway lighting to LED this & next winter season meaning a NOTAM is issued for overnight Aerodrome closure.

Jet2 A330 (AirTanker lease)
I was having a look through the AirTanker fleet, to see which aircraft was possibly joining Jet2 for Summer 17. (Thomas Cook have G-VYGK, used for last couple of years , and also have G-VYGM joining for Summer 17).
I'm wondering if it will be G-VYGL, as this has recently just been painted in all white(from the normal grey), and would allow for the red 'Jet2' titles to put on, much like Titan's A321? It would seem the logical choice...:) |
Since those three are the only ones in use for commercial passenger services, G-VYGL would make sense indeed.

You are correct, G-VYGL is indeed the aircraft heading to Jet2 for the summer.

When BHX was launched as a base for 2017, the Jet2 announcement indicated "3 new 737-800's" would be based there from April so perhaps some of the new deliveries will be based there...?

New doesn't mean the newest ones, could be any frame starting from G-JZHJ.

The A330 is confirmed to be painted in full jet2holidays livery so white is a good starting point. Painting should be completed in next few weeks.

I think you'll find the base is opening with four of the new 737-800's.

Jet2 just acquired another second hand B737-800, arriving Apr/May 17, ex Transaero E-IRUG, bringing that to 3 secondhand planes this year....so far!

When is the A330 due to arrive? As for the Leeds visit, it has no reason to visit Leeds, I understand it will be solely based at Manchester, including maintenance, if needed. :) |

re the leeds visit some people were wondering with leeds being head office would pm use the opportunity for some good free publicity such as look north and the yep,this would be good for jet 2 holidays. sm1 |

I`m sure I read somewhere that MAN will be losing the B733 before summer is this correct and if so do we have a date?

Forward bookings must be doing well as Jet2 are adding yet more flights from Leeds/Bradford for summer 2017.
