No sign of Chania or the also rumoured Belfast or Naples

None of the above bookable on the app yet.

The addition of the 4 confirmed new routes gives FR an impressive 46 destinations from BHX in summer 2024, which is a big increase in the number of destinations served pre-Covid and not far behind Jet2 with 52 destinations.

Would be interesting to know how many monthly seats both offer from BHX next summer, particularly on routes they both serve
Booking engine has been going the other way today - loads of flights removed for April May June and July. I assume late delivery of aircraft and it looks like remaining six based until at least June then it could be a 7th and possibly an 8th in August. The cuts are mainly with the daily flights such as Alicante, Palma, Malaga, Faro but some of the flights three to four a week have been cut by one or two such as BGY, MAD, REU, RHO and FUE which is now 4 per week will be weekly until August from April.

Chania is in the both the APP and online site Monday from May,

Porto is in the App sold out three per week all BHX based

Beavais still in the app 4 per week all sold out

No sign of BFS NAP etc

Question has to be is it equipment shortage or the economic squeeze of inflation combined with higher mortgage interest rates.

I have long thought that S24 could be tough because when it comes to it, a roof over your head and food on the table has to trump a weekend break or two weeks of Spanish sunshine.

Time alone will tell.

it is the same at Bristol too - reductions across the board including the likes of Alicante and Malaga in peak summer . It was looking as though we were going to get a sixth based aircraft now maybe not but hopefully they are just re jigging the timetables

Turkish

Turkish going x18 weekly next summer with a lunchtime flight being added Tue/Thur/Sat/Sun.

With the new Pegasus service some days will see four flights a day to Istanbul.

Cheers, I suspected it would be across the network and not the only ones with TUI following suit probably for different reasons. 12th based delayed until first week in July

13 weekly flights removed from the end of May until first week of July

Monday FNC HRG (gone all summer)
Tuesday PUY PFO
Wednesday CFU DLM,
Thursday BJV SSH,
Friday CHQ RHO,
Saturday REU JTR
Sunday NBE ( due to go to BFS).

At least the Friday Hurghada has been added back originally 3 per week then 1 per week but back to 2..

TUI seat wise was down on 2023 due to one less 787 and this will further reduce the seats on offer.

Really? Unexpected in one way but a swipe at Jet2 who are also starting AGA & RAK in October 24. FR will almost certainly offer much more competitive flight only deals and the combined frequencies will offer the chance to do mini breaks as well as longer stays

I've visited many different parts of Morocco over the years, it's a great destination with friendly people (if you avoid the souq in Marrakech &#128522 and fantastic cuisine. Of all the places I've visited, Agadir is my least favourite but has a nice beach and will appeal to the fly and flop crowd and those looking for winter sun somewhere different to the Canaries.

Jet2 will be largely an IT operation for Jet2 Holidays whereas I suspect Ryanair will be after independent travellers and will probably also pick up bookings from smaller specialist tour operators.

Is there enough business for both carriers? Time alone will tell.

Interesting question is which aircraft can operate these UK/Morocco flights. Can EU registered aircraft be used, or will it need to be G- aircraft with RK flight numbers?

I think all Ryanair flights from STN use RK fleet and flight numbers.

They don't. Only a minority do, mainly to serve the Non-EU and domestic routes, the rest are FR flight numbers.

For non-EU destinations I take it?

If so that would suggest at least one BHX unit would he from the RK fleet in S24, unless perhaps the plan is to operate a domestic (Belfast?) to BHX to operate the Morocco flights.

The Air China cargo slots are interesting. Spicejet is also intriguing and Qatar are holding slots for 2x daily again for next summer. Will they happen? Could be an interesting summer.

On cargo, BHX has entertained a lot of ad hoc flights this last month from HKG and China by National Airlines (747F), Titan (A330) and Uzbekistan (763). Clearly an airport operator and handling agents enthusiastic about freight.

National. Uzbek & Titan have all now finished their cargo flights, Air China should have started a 3 weekly B77L this month, good to see these slots still active for S24

Am fairly sure SpiceJet have had slots at BHX before and not taken them up. I'd be very surprised if they turn up as they are primarily an Indian domestic airline with just 15 international routes. Their only flights to Europe is a seasonal service to Bergamo.

Never say never but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe I am reading this incorrectly but dont get Turkish reducing slots when an increase has already been announced. Also Play show passenger figures for 2023 or is it just slots held that show up
