EasyJet Summer 2019
Good news for STN in that one of the current based fleet is being upgauged to an A320. This will now make Stansted a base of 2x A320s and 5x A319s, perhaps the most significant uplift in seat capacity from EZY for quite some time.
Little change in routes and frequencies compared to Summer 2018. None of the recently announced winter routes (HRG, LYS and TLV) are continuing through the summer.
Looks as if OVD is gone for good - some of the additional A320 capacity appears to be allocated to BIO which would also suggest this, given their reasonably close proximity).
No BIA or MAH as yet but I believe they usually start late-June/July anyway.
Some gaps in the schedule to allow for potential frequency increases/new routes - (I recall Kavala, Greece was speculated but have no info on that).

Personally I would not suggest Oveido is reasonably close Bilbao, just short of 300 km on a reasonably busy - for Spain - main road. If you are talking close to Bilbao, may I suggest Santander Burgos, Pamplona and Vitoria airport's.

I personally find this odd, Stansted is EasyJet’s only route to OVD and if I am right it has had little other routes their from the UK on the EasyJet network.
But great news about the second A320, shame they are sticking with the 7 based and not increasing back to 8.

Today was just a general schedule release, any new routes or aircraft are normally announced later in the year. So watch this space. From the speculation I've heard and with LTN's stands being full and LGW morning slots mostly gone. 2019 might bring in a additional aircraft. Regardless, the new larger aircraft is the first piece of commitment from EZY since they brought the first A320 to STN in 2012.

Echo Stands
The newly created Echo stands are now in operation.
Stands E81 L/R and E82 LR are definitely available and operational. Unsure whether E90 L/R and E91 L/R are as well.
I beleive these stands are mainly for parking aircraft currently, and aircraft will be moved to stands on the satellites for boarding. Though stands E83 and E84 are both used for coaching from the APV Gates 90-93, so the new stands maybe to.

Good to read the availability above concerning the new Echo stands.
With the L/R`s & athough non contact I make that 4 extra stands available & then if not already with E90/E91 it makes 8 in total which is the plan.
The total before was reported as up to 110 stands available.
So now up to 118 on strength.
In the latest planning application due to be decided next month another 3 stands in the Echo`s are planned as well as 7 in the new Yankee area.

The "up to 110 stands" were 2016 statistics.
Certainly very early this year MAG stated in an outlook for 2018 that amongst other additions including extra seating, extra car parking & 12 new check in desks that 8 new aircraft stands would become available.
Slight correction to the number of remote Yankee stands planned & applied for = 6 and not as my previous 7.

If you look at NATS ground chart/docking chart for STN it will so you the full layout of these stands. Though it doesn’t show a completion date.
But they have only opened in the last few days.

I make it now up to 20 aircraft on Satellite 1, 18 each on Satellites 2 and 3, now 10 in the Echos for busing, plus 9 in the Deltas that are used only for remote parking = Total 75.
Obviously not including cargo, Fedex apron and north-side FBOs etc which will probably bump it up to over 100.

Further to these stands being added, we have new plans in a recent MAG staff release. The APV will looked to be extended to make use of these new remote parking stands at peak periods for bussing operations, to help relieve pressure from SAT2 and SAT3. No dates, but it’s within the current ‘Stansted Transformation Project’ which is currently due to be running up till 2024.

I digress..... Back to the discussion about stands.
As Stands E81,E82,E90 and E91 have been a construction site for at least the last year so I very much doubt, you flew from here.

I believe the air bridges for stands B32, B33, C43 and C44 are serviceable but get used very rarely. I recall early in the year a Corsair A330-300 parked on C44 on a LDE charter flight, and this used an air bridge.
