Further to these stands being added, we have new plans in a recent MAG staff release. The APV will looked to be extended to make use of these new remote parking stands at peak periods for bussing operations, to help relieve pressure from SAT2 and SAT3. No dates, but it’s within the current ‘Stansted Transformation Project’ which is currently due to be running up till 2024.
The APV brings back memories, when I first started out in my aviation career back in 1994, that is where I was trained on the tannoy system. I remember it because I had to practice on the Prague flight but being Cumbrian I didn’t do it posh enough so the made me board the Gill Air to Newcastle lol. It was a long ladder to where I am now but still look back in fondness to the days of boarding flights, with out going on my first big mistake was announcing that AirUK Lesure was PLEASED to announce a 4 hour Delay to the departure of a flight to Palma, for all of you that know satellite one at Stansted, you will know there was about 100 passengers standing round the gate as I announced it, didn’t go down well.
