A good destination, but 12 a week? I think the route development team just put two pins in a map!

Business routes need to be 2 daily otherwise they just don`t work
as long as it is possible to do there and back in the day.

Double-daily MANLUX is very aggressive considering Luxair's efforts to make a daily RJ145 work. If the route had feed from the Flybe hub so that it was effectively a UK-Luxembourg service with connections from EDI, GLA, BHD, IOM, ABZ, INV, SOU, EXT etc then it might help, but the schedules seem to pitch it firmly at the MAN-originating market. The airline simply does not seem to be using its MAN hub to support new routes like RTM and LUX when they stand a far better chance with this domestic feed in place!

LUX

Feed

The BHX timings will help if they want feed from EDI, GLA, ABZ and BHD for UK based pax.

You can`t always have it both ways, if you allowed for connecting flights it would not get way until 09.00 and return would have to be back by tea time so no business time in Luxembourg but it does work
the otherway on some routes or you come Manchester the day
before as you would have to at Heathrow

Any more news on the Blue Islands franchise agreement? I can't see any mention of it on the websites of BE or SI, and ticketing remains very separate. Will it actually go ahead do people think?

Not seen anything on that, but it appears that BEE will be using VLM to operate some flights out of MAN, starting in a few weeks:

VLM Airlines-Operated Flights (14th March - 31st August 2016)

Looks like this is a more wide-ranging arrangement than just IOM flights as was suggested in an earlier post.

Who came up with the FAQ's

Q: Are firearms allowed to be carried in my hold bag?

A: No, firearms cannot be carried on VLM-operated flights.

Anybody would think Flybe allow firearms on their aircraft freely....

VLM for flybe

Is it only at Manchester airport that vlm will be flying for flybe this summer or will flybe be using them out of other airports.

Flybe has recently partnered with VLM Airlines to offer additional flights from 14th March and 31st August 2016. VLM will be flying for Flybe passengers on the following routes:
•Manchester (MAN) to:

◦Aberdeen (ABZ)
◦Amsterdam (AMS)
◦Belfast City (BHD)
◦Dusseldorf (DUS)
◦Exeter (EXT)
◦Isle of Man (IOM)
◦Jersey (JER)
◦Knock - Ireland West (NOC)
◦Nantes (NTE)
◦Newquay (NQY)
◦Rotterdam (RTM)
◦Southampton (SOU)

Flybe will continue to operate flights on these routes during this period, bolstered by the VLM-operated flights.

That is a lot of routes, will VLM be using more than one aircraft for BE? Presumably the IOM flights will only be before March 26th and then the extras during the TT week because all others are down as 100% STK to my knowledge.

You can take a firearm on board a flybe aircraft as you can not access the holds in flight. Whilst on a VLM aircraft they can be hence the ban.

I do wish website creators would stop calling these pre-formed Q&A lists 'FAQs'. Really, how frequently has that question been asked since the VLM announcement last week?

Just entitle the list 'Useful Information' and be done with it.

rant rant grumble

Big rumour here that Flybe will pull off BHD to NCL and to LPL. Loads are very poor according to CAA stats

NCL BHD has been disappointing, down to four weekly over the winter, about 1450/1500 pax per month

It could be more to do with the news that Ryanair are due to announce new routes shortly from Belfast International to both Liverpool and Newcastle.

Liverpool Airport's MD Andrew Cornish announced on BBC Radio Merseyside today that Ryanair are to commence services between Liverpool and Belfast.
