Possibly indicative of lack of business travellers as, as a rule, business traffic is strong in the winter apart from, roughly, second week of December until mid January. Business travel is very light for much of the summer, particularly school holiday period. Ramadan (I think late May into June this year) also impacts business travel to Muslim countries.

EY are not short of passengers - or cargo. Its the lack of aircraft in part due to the removal of some of the A340s and also the bottleneck situation in AUH at peak times, as the aircraft arrives there.
All options being considered although yes, Winter 16 is showing only 5 per week - however this could change.
EY have invested heavily in EDI and are committed

Very unusual flight times for the EDI-TLL sector. I seem to remember when Ryanair flew from EDI a large proportion of passengers seemed to be British tourists. For them this schedule is less than ideal. For me though, suits fine and glad the link is back!

On the other hand... booked! I used the old version a lot and was amazed it didn't last. It was always busy, and some of the tickets were more expensive than connecting flights on full service airlines.
On the other hand again... it seems to be responsible for all my flights via AMS being cancelled, as that route has been cut to once daily to make room for EDI / Odessa / Rijeka etc.
I may however also end up using it from time to time when I want to travel from London to Tallinn really late at night; I believe it will offer (on the days it runs) the latest departure time from London to Tallinn without a long stopover :-) Can't imagine this will make other people happy though; I think my desperation to spend full working days in Tallinn straight after full days in Cambridge at any cost of sleep is probably unique!

Surprised EZY havent made more of KEF, ex EDI. Ive a feeling they will not need to as Im not convinved by WOW at this stage and will need a major UK advertising drive.
Neither daily and the much more established FI very defensive in their territory. Will be interesting to see the landscape on this route next year. Dont think EZY were near full loads even peak summer less than daily, so lots of capacity. Exciting times to watch.

Hadn't heard much about this airline 'WOW air' , but their online reviews don't seem great. Is it just a resurrection of another failed airline? was it Iceland Express or suchlike? Rapid expansion with transatlantic widebodies make me nervous.

KEF had a 90% load factor with EZY in Dec so not doing too badly at all.
Wow are another good addition to the EDI portfolio and could offer a decent opportunity for connections onto their TATL services. We'll see!

Some info from another forum;
According to FR24 (admittedly, not a perfect source of data), the aircraft involved in the incident is still at EDI. I don't know the nature of the emergency.
Flybe DH8 G-PRPB operating flight BE1331 EDI-LCY returned this morning and was evacuated on the runway.
I had a look at the flight replay on FR24. It departed 76 minutes late at 08:16 and climbed normally to FL170 then squawked 7700 near Talla and returned. Climb rate and speed looked normal until it levelled out and decelerated near Talla. Descent rate looked normal. It took a slightly longer approach route over Aberlady and slightly longer final approach, presumably to help it to lose height, but not unusually long. Descent and approach speeds looked reasonably normal too. It landed back in EDI at around 08:40 and the runway reopened about 30 minutes later.
