I think you will find that earth movements are not a problem, it's the truck movements which will need to be done which will kick up some heat!

The airport should do a Funchal Airport style runway extension off the end of runway 26 and bridge the runway out to Parkway Station off the hill top and towards the town...

Mmmmmm, a nice 9-10,000ft runway!

Ohhhh this is Britain and I think my ambitions might be a little OTT!

The incentive is to do all the work as soon as possible and earn extra income from that investment as there is always the ticking clock when the franchise comes to an end.

With Luton Borough Council shelling out close to £250,000 in translation costs last year, they very much do need the Concession income!

With Luton run by Spanish owner ENAIRE which was formerly known as Aena must have had some sort of influence with Air Nostrum. I would have thought that an airport like Southend would have been chasing this type of carrier.

I can't think of a better company running Luton than ENAIRE. The airport really seems to have landed on its feet.

Wonder what sort of aircraft they will operate into Luton as they operate aircraft ranging from 50 seats to 100 seats.

Great to see new routes and new airlines coming to Luton. Lets hope the Vigo route is success and its the beginning of a new partnership with Air Nostrum

As Vigo isn't exactly one of their trunk routes, I assume they are hoping business comes from the Iberia booking engine of Spanish wanting just London.

Believe the aircraft to be used is a Canadair CRJ-900.

Grrr

Falling fuel costs probably made this viable.

Tried to place a booking and no flights on the Nostrum or BA web site.

It's great to see new airlines being encouraged to fly into Luton. I hope Air Nostrum and Sun Express are just the start for this year.

Whether other airlines have tried and failed, like Adria, hopefully these carriers can develop successful operations alongside the core carriers. The more variety the better.

What time does the Air Nostrum come in and go back out as I can't find it on the booking engine.
Any new airlines will be so much better to see at LTN
