Luton #2 and increasing, could be more if more concrete was laid.
Northolt busy City busy but Luton still attracts.....right place 24x7 and good FBOs.

Luton attracts because it's cheap, you can't really compare Northolt and City with Luton, they're two very different (very limited space) products at two very different prices.

A G550 or Falcon 7X operator isn't primarily worried about handling charges wherever they go!

LTN continues to attract Biz Jets in large numbers due to a decent supply of slots, 24Hr operation and good access to London. The fact that there is now Bombardier and Gulfstream service centers is also important.

There was a website posted here a few months ago that showed Luton as being much cheaper than any other London FBO including so called London airports like Oxford. I guess 3 Luton based FBO's has forced down prices.

Correct, price is not a great factor for the heavy VVIP traffic, it is access 24x7. Handling fees is only a small factor.
LTN is the right location.
STN gets the big stuff but LTN is still attacting what the customer wants, I'm just saying more FBO parking would be a win, win.
TAG have the space but movements still are below what they expire to. Did a job last week, plenty of metal on the ground but not much moving.

LTNMAN.

Yes the local Council have had to drop the airport expansion plan application submitted at least for the time being.

I attach a slightly more dramatic interpretation of the reasons which claims the local council could not be independent or impartial as it runs and promotes the airport.

Hope we don't see a lengthy red tape saga now that the Govt have been asked to intervene.

With Wizz, Monarch, Thomson, Ryanair, El Al, Tarom and Carpatair increasing flights for 2014 this could be a good year for Luton being in the 10.5 million area

Approval of the Guernsey route seems to be taking ages. Anyone know why its not been approved yet & when a decision is due?

Yes I saw it to. Heart warming stories about the Roma Widow and her 6 children who have come to live in Luton for a better life and the Roma man with an extended family of 35 some of which have also come to Luton with more to follow. Maybe Wizz need to get some 747's

Spot the ukip voters, it's been a common trend on this thread for the last 2 months or so.. Kind of hilariously ironic also..

"Geee I sure hope we get new flights, I hope Wizz stick around and don't go to Stansted.. but I sure hope Wizz doesnt bring over lots of icky foreigners" Grow up already, we got the point like 200 posts ago.

Anyone they bring over that stays to work will probably work 10x harder then the dole bumming cretinous louts that have plagued this town for as long as I can remember.

Grrr

No room for airport expansion once you have a large Roma caravan camp on the door step! I am sure the 'real' Buster will donate some soup! Luton Relic might even walk their wolves!

Don't blame the Romanian or Bulgarian folk, if the rules permit, get a one way ticket!

I digress......

A new dawn beckons for Luton. AXA or whatever they are called will need a payback for the large investment and the only way you can do that is make the airport more competative than our Essex neighbour.

Meanwhile at a secret location in George St, the Luton elected are plotting how to spend their 25 year windfall!

Keeping local Libraries open would be a good start!

So Ardian and AENA buy the slightly extended lease to run the airport from Abertis who I think took over TBI. So who gets the money? Seems to me that Abertis will actually be getting the cash but I wonder if the council will also pick up a small lump sum. I can't see why they would as the lease had already been extended before AENA came on the scene.

Perhaps not surprising given its location and the rapid increase in the number of new hotels in the area........

FlyBe making Jersey and IOM summer only. Can't remember the last time Luton was without a Jersey service, so maybe easyJet could return?
