NCL

The NCL service has been reduced by one or two rotations per day for the next 3 weeks.

This has caused a great deal of issues with connections.

Not sure of the reason. However the reductions were planned about 10 months ago.

Yield management, aircraft shortage, crew shortage ???

Schedule back to normal in April. There have been similar reductions for short periods of time before.

The LBA will probably resume 3x daily soon.

The reductions are to allow increased engineering activity on the Airbus fleet.

Yes I told them and they weren't interested. They were more concerned with aliens nicking MH370

Not worth talking the route down. There are domestic reductions elsewhere and reductions in May.

Bhd flights are cut right back in April but increase in May again. Maybe the T5 move might see additional rotations

I believe MAN and ABZ also have at least one rotation down on some days currently.

I don't see the issue with the advert to be honest. It is what it is, advertising holidays in the Indian Ocean area.

Personally I think people need to lighten up and get out more. Timing aside, its not offensive, the only connections to MH370 are the fact BA is an airline and the words 'Indian Ocean'. Should all adverts advertising holidays to this area be temporarily banned?

You're right LAX_LHR and I'm sure many will find it amusing, coincidental or whatever, but many would say it was in bad taste. Question. Was the ad thought out before or after the incident? I've no idea how BA's marketing team work but whoever approved it would have done so before the incident.

The time it takes to put marketing through id be 99% certain these adverts would have been devised before MH370.

I suppose its all down to personal opinions but i honestly see nothing wrong with those adverts. Timing or not, its obvious its marketing holidays and its worth noting that no one (that we know of) has complained about these adverts, it just appeared on a humour based twitter feed.

BA new longhaul destinations

With all the new aircraft coming into service are there any new longhaul destinations on the horizon yet?

Fair Deal -

Current deliveries are largely fleet replacement and interestingly the only real element driving expansion of service are the unsung heroes - Those extra 77W frames received and 12 strong fleet to be completed in early summer.

The 388 and 788 deliveries are pretty much matched by withdrawals of 744 and 767s.

We have seen a few new route added Seoul, Austin, Chengdu and some increases in frequencies e.g. an extra New York -JFK (replaces an AA flight this summer)
Equally we have seen some consolidations such as at LAX where planned use of the 388 will see fewer flights offered overall.

Interestingly the short haul continues to expand with a range of new services including leisure ops from Heathrow and further new 320s scheduled in the coming months (Some will replace the ex bmi 319/320s moving to Gatwick)

As for your question i believe we are still several seasons away from any meaningful expansion - That will come from the 789 and A350 fleets through many of these will also be for continued fleet replacements.

Still being blitzed with offers to Upgrade to Business Class inter-Europe- email, text and even banners/posters at the airports

Suggests they need to rethink what they are offering as the public seem to have wised up that you are paying a lot for lounge access
