BG/AI/EK/PK

EK37 (B77W) landed 18.46 to join PK792 (B772), AI113 (B788) and BG1015 (DC10) all on the ground together for 10 minutes. It could all happen again Saturday evening of course.

All eyes on where the Biman ends up next week. I hear it could be Plan C

Biman

The inbound passenger figure was 35
I thought lot more people would be on that
But good loads on the scenic flights over the next few days
Now hearing that the aircraft is going back to operational duties
After this.

Wonder what lucky will be on the DC-10 flight
When it flies into miltary airspace over Wales to get air to
Air photography!

Route development team were in Dubai last week
Meeting emirates would love to be a fly on the wall
In that meeting room.

Runway predicted to open end of April now but talk that
Works (which would be around the operation) could continue
To September Time will tell.

Frankly, I am trying hard to unravel some of your posting - something approximating to the "Queens English" might not go amiss!

Anyway, 35 PAX inbound sounds low, but since it was a one-way trip it was never going to be populated by "normal" passengers - you've got to have money to burn to fly all the way to Bangladesh just to fly back to UK - I know at least one that has though!

Who says the DC10 pleasure flights are going into military airspace? If they are then I'm sure that all the required permissions will be in place!

As for the aircraft's future, whilst there have been several rumours as to where it will end up (Bruntingthorpe, somewhere in USA, and now back in Bangladesh) the one thing, as I understand, that will not happen is a return to service. Do you have concrete information to the contrary, or are you merely assuming that as it's headed back home - it's to return to service?

Would the people who have paid to be on the 'last flight' not a be a bit peeved if the aircraft went back into service as normal. Would Biman then market another set of 'final flights'.

Perhaps they need the DC-10 back to start DAK-BHX-JFK!

Biman DC-10

ATT notts, apologies for the bad spelling and grammar
it was a long day and was using the iphone to write it.

I also heard many things about its future to which today
I learned it is going back home but it's been sold to a private
Buyer, for scrap, operational flights that I don't know.

I would hope the right permissions are in place
The civil aircraft (unknown) which is taking the photos is to arrive at
Birmingham on Monday and be parked next to the DC-10
Dependant on operational changes.

They chose to play corny 70's style porn music over the approach and landing instead of letting viewers hear the sound of those 3 mighty GE's...

"They chose to play corny 70's style porn music over the approach and landing"

Rather appropriate for an aircraft fondly remembered as "the three holer"...

Monarch & Ryanair

Monarch

With flybe starting Bordeaux in mid May it seems Monarch are not going to risk a second season and based on the 2013 figures who can blame them. The only flights bookable are Saturday 24 May and 31 May 2014.

The question is where will the aircraft go in place of BOD? The days and timings lend it self to re-instate the Tuesday and Thursday Nice which were originally cut for 2014 after some indifferent figures in 2013. The Saturday Bordeaux rotation was planned for morning and could easily do Spain if it started out at 06.30 - Mahon is crying out for a weekend departure as there is just a Thomson flight at present.

Ryanair - Again like pulling teeth with still several gaps in the schedule and odd frequencies on the Dublin. Milan MXP remains in the drop-down despite BGY not bookable for summer. Trieste is another long-established route cut to peak summer months. The third Dublin in July and August has reappeared on certain days but very messy.

Phrases like 'BIRMINGHAM...Britain's second-biggest ' could annoy those of a northern persuasion.

This is a true statement so why would it annoy anyone from up North ??

This has been debated many times on this site, I suggest we DONT start another debate just except Birmingham is indeed the UK's 2nd city !

Just ashame people are so insecure that this has to be brought up, rather unprovoked may I add, at all really.

flybe

Summer 2014

More adjustments with the 4th Amsterdam on Tuesdays & Thursdays removed from the schedule before it even operated.

However a 7th E175 and 8th jet in total added to the summer schedule with Glasgow first outbound and Aberdeen last inbound changed from the Q400. Not sure where it goes in between but could operate Toulouse or two flights such as INV/GLA

SAS

Stockholm finally returns tomorrow after its winter break.

Cello

Signed a short-term deal with BA CityFlyer for use of the RJ85 for a couple of months until the end of May.

Summer 14

Estonian are now operating the former Flybe IT's on Saturdays for Inghams:

ELL8721/8722 E170 07:00/11:35 SZG
ELL8723/8724 E170 12:15/16:55 INN

It looks like virtually all the usual summer Flybe weekend IT's have now gone, but there may be just one weekend flight remaining to Salzburg on Saturday afternoons for TUI Travel

Due to Dubai International Airport’s Runway enhancement project, EK is shifting its operations between 01MAY14 to 20JUL14.
Courtesy of airline route. This has been discussed before.

FlyBE Summer

FlyBE Schedule continues to be ever-changing, now the double daily BHX-HAJ only appears to commence mid-May. Appears to be work in progress in the schedule, as w/c 7APR would currently suggest the following schedule BHX-HAJ: BHX-HAJ Dep 10:55 Arr 13:40 BE431 Dep 14:30 Arr 17:10 BE433
